OT:? Craft Room pictures

I've uploaded some new pictures of the craft room and one of Deb to my Little Rock Home album. Haven't done anything with the floor so far.

If you have any ideas for the cement floor that doesn't require my moving everything out and is economical and easy to clean, let me know. A color suggestion would also be welcome.

Thanks for the photos of the craft room. Looking good! Love the fabric around the islands. For the floor...something easy... hmmm... how about stamping it? Get some paint that wears well. See it all the time on Trading Spaces... painting the floor. Maybe a large flower stamp and stamp it around.

Your craft room looks really nice and roomy. I like that you have AC and a heater in there. You can live in there...LOL!

We used garage paint to paint the cement in our garage. I think there was only gray or tan to pick from. I chose tan. The kit comes with these chips that you can sprinkle on to add more texture. It's easy to clean with a mop. I think it was about $130 for our 2 car garage.

M-C - I think I agree with the others - paint it --- remember all the painted garage floors and driveways here in FL!

This is the stuff dreams are made of! I wonder what the rest of the family would say if I take over the family room in the basement. Our soon to be 21 year old just moved out to her own apartment and the room is almost empty. I might never come up again..... The room looks great. Sandy Southern Indiana

what a fabulous space!! I love the colorful cloth and it looks like there is plenty of room so no one is sitting on top of one another. That's the kind of room I want!!

Holy Moly M-C! Moving to Petite Pierre du Nord is looking better and better. Ya got room for one adult and three kids? hehehehhehe Love your space. I agree with painting the floor. It's quick, easy, and pretty inexpensive.

Great space, wish mine was so organized. I have bought organizational things but they are still in the box they came in! I need about 2 days down there to organize and I can't find the time! Good for you-it looks great! Barb:o)

Thanks everyone, I was leaning towards paint, but won't it look silly if I don't pain under all those white closets and bookshelves? Not that it'll show until and unless we move and take them with us. I guess I could paint that part of the floor if and when we leave. What about color, is everyone thinking beige? There is actually some light gray in the fabric. And does anyone know what king of preparation is required, if any, before I can paint the floor?

The only down side of the room is that you have to go outside and down 15 wodden stairs to get there. If we stay, I plan on having an awning made to cover the staircase and the slab in front of the double doors. I'm also thinking of putting in a double screen door so that we can keep the doors open when it's nice out. Now that it is set up, I am using it more often. Ask Deb though, with no windows and no clock, it's really easy to lose track of time down there.

Oh and Arleen, GA isn't all that far! You can come and scrap and stay in the guest room. Other than Thanksgiving weekend, four days aroung Xmas and the weekend before thanksgiving it's available and I'd love to welcome my RCS friends for a visit. I am so praying that we can stay here! If we move back to FL, the house that we'll be able to afford will be the size of the craft room! (OK, a little bigger than that, but not much)!

Hmmm....preparation for painting a concrete floor. The only thing I can think of is the obvious, and that's to make sure it's clean. Beige would be fine I think and still look good with your floral covering. Or you could paint with gray to pick up the little bit of gray in the covering. In the end, you're the one who will be looking at it more than anyone else, so what color do you think? :-)

And yes, with no windows or a clock, it is VERY easy to lose track of time! We were scrapping away and I looked at the clock on MC's 'puter while she was scanning in my LO and realized it was 9:00PM!!!! No wonder we were getting pooped!

Another thing you can do is make big throw mats out of those rolls of linoleum that they sell at home depot for like $20. I have seen on HGTV where they paint the pack and make it look like a rug. You can throw several of these all around just to cover some areas. Then you don't have to go through the hassle of painting the floor.

Wasn't there a person here that talked about squares of carpet that you can get for a good price at Home Depot. Maybe that would work for you too.
