OT: First Grade!!!!!!!

My son Evan is a First Grader today since school starts today. He said he is looking forward to go back to school. It's just break my heart to see him go. Of course I took some pictures of him but will takes more pictures of him when he get home this afternoon. I am going to clean up his room good and put his favorite snack on his bed waiting for him to come home. Just had to vent a little - thanks for listening. Marcie

Congrats to Evan and to his mom! This is such a special day! One of those days when a mommy's heart has mixed feelings! Both pride and a little sorrow that her baby is growing up!

Hugs, M-C

Our school started today too. I have one in the second grade and one in the seventh. It was so crazy trying to get everyone ready for school (I send off three from the childcare besides my own) I completely forgot to take pictures. I will be waiting when they get off the bus after school with the camera. Sandy

Oh Marcie, I feel for you! My baby will be a FRESHMAN in high school on Friday! I am having a hard time dealing with that thought!

Congrats on Evan starting 1st grade. My little one also started 1st grade yesterday and my eldest started 4th grade. I did remember to take pictures before we left and at school. I didn't know what to do with myself and my sister and I chatted on the phone for 2 hours!

Well, Marice congrats!! I think you are doing better than me right now. Right now I just got back from school. I had one go in kindergarden and one in 3rd. For Tanner the kindergardener we had to go the first day for a while so they could get all settled in.

Why is it so harder on me? He's my baby that's why. I just can't see him carrying that lunch tray. You worry about them getting to their room off of the bus in the morning. Who's going to cut up his hot dog.

Hang in the Marcie. It's going to be a long day for both of us. I think I would have been better if I would have just gone to work instead of taking the day off.

Congrats to Evan! Hang in there Marcie. I'll be in your shoes on Friday. DD will start 2nd grade and DS will start pre-K. That's going to be the toughy for me, watching DS go to school because he's the youngest. I may be wanting another baby come Friday! LOL On one hand, I'm excited to see what they both learn and being able to watch them grow physically, emotionally and socially. But, on the other hand, I hate seeing them grow up!

When we moved after living 21 years in our old house I had to clean out the attic. I had a box for each one of my children (except the youngest two who were not in school at the time) for preschool thru fifth grade. That totaled

18 boxes. Sandy

My sister called me a bit ago, her son who is also in 1st grade just got sick and threw up all over another student while waiting in line. The poor thing was so embarassed. :(

Congrats to Evan. I think the first grade was my daughter's favorite year in school. Everything is so new and exciting to them. I'm sure he will come home with lots of things to tell you about his day. Hang in there Marcie it will get easier. Just wait till they go off to college!

I have 3 starting school Monday. One will be a sophomore in high school, an eigth grader, and then my daughter is starting kindergarten. I, for one, will be glad for her to be in school. She has drove me absolutely nuts this summer. I am so ready for her to be around other kids her age and make friends. I am also amazed that my baby is starting school, though. Her Daddy is the one that is going to be the nervous wreck with her starting school, of course he is at work all day and doesn't get to get the torture I do with her. LOL. But I will miss our good moments, but those can now happen after 2:30. LOL. And Mama can get her peace and quiet. And believe me, the TV will be off almost the whole time they are in school!
