OT: Good news, bad news.

I took my son to the doctor. The good news is, he has a virus. The bad news is, the strain of virus that has been going around is ugly and has been lasting anywhere from 7 to 15 days. I'm to keep my son full of fluids so he stays hydrated and give him fever reducers.

So, I bought my son some Cheetos. I RARELY buy chips (because if they are in the house I can't eat just one) but I knew he would eat those, they'd make him thirsty, and then he'd drink his fluids! =)

Hi Marcia,

I am so sorry that your son is sick. I've had that virus since CHRISTMAS and am just beginning to feel better. I found it hard to drink fluids and wound up becoming dehydraded (sp?). I like the Pedialite Popsicles in Orange and they seemed to bring my electrolytes back to normal.

Also Oranges and Apples also help in making the fluid count keep up.

I hope he feels better and that you remember to mark the chips "for ____'s recovery, not me" ;-) (I never keep chips in the house if I can help it but my husband always knows when "that time of themonth is arriving" because so does the chips."

Love, Kate

Marcia hope your DS feels better soon. The viruses seem to get stronger every year! Good idea with the crisps! Mom's are so sneaky...uhmmm..I mean clever! :)

Hope your little guy gets to feeling better soon. Cheetos are good medicine. My son would agree with you.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Thankfully, my son is doing much better. He has been fever free for 48 hours and will be returning to his Kindergarten room tomorrow! Yipee! Hopefully his brain hasn't turned into puddled ooze. He's watched hours and hours of Cartoon Network. I had to plug him into the t.v. all last week so I could work and of course I feel guilty and neglectful for that. :-(

I tried to make it up to him this past weekend by playing marathon rounds of Trouble and doing a little stamping. And his tadpoles arrived on Saturday so we had fun setting up his Planet Frog kit. Of course I took pictures of him and the tadpoles for future scrapping. :-)
