OT: Local Scrapbook Event

I received a gorgeous handmade card/invite in the mail today. As you are all aware last December we lost our 45 day old son Dylan. The childrens Hospital is holding a memorial event on 3 days. You will go and make a scrapbook page in memory of the child that you lost. All of the pages will be put in an album and put on display each year at a memorial event. How exciting! They provide all the supplies all you bring is the pictures and your memories. I thought this was a neat idea. Thought I would share.

Oh that is truly wonderful for the hospital to hold such a touching event. With all the pages you have done already you're going to have a wonderful time making something truly special.

{{{{{{{{{{{Chrissy and family}}}}}}}}}}}}} on the loss of your child. :*(

This is a wonderful way to memorialize a child. I lost two babies (in utero) but I can't even imagine the pain of losing a baby after 45 days. :*( I'm glad you have found a way to help you deal with the grief and maybe find closure to some of the pain I'm sure you still must feel. My hospital has a program where they offer memorials and things similar to this to grieving parents/families, and it really helped me a lot when I was in that place.

Thank you for the suggestion. A young couple from my church just had a baby a few days ago born with multiple problems (unexpected) and he died last night--she sent pictures a few days ago, if I can find the courage I will try to make a memorial page for them with your suggestion.

God bless you, Carolyne in TX

That is such a thoughtful idea, Chrissy! We all know that scrapbooking is therapeutic and it seems that others know this as well. It sounds like a great get together. Please share it with us if you are able.

Oh how wonderful Chrissy! With all the adorable layouts you've done of Dylan, I know you'll make a spectacular layout for this memorial album. (And maybe even be able to meet some new scrapbooking friends!)

Chrissy I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my son Jesse when he was 10 weeks old. What a wonderful thing for the hospital to be holding. I've never heard of anyone doing that before.
