Poor Radar isn't much better today. He won't eat and he has slept hidden in his carrier most of the day. He has come out to drink water when I've coerced him so at least he isn't dehydrated. I guess we have to take him back to the vet tomorrow morning for blood tests and another lesson on getting him to take the medicine the doc gave us for him. Rick tried three times and all that accomplised was to have Radat's head fur full of antibiotic and Radar sick on the floow. His tummy still seems to hurt when touched too.

Thank you all for your caring words. Today has been a tough day in more ways than one.

M-C, I am so sorry to hear that Radar is no better. I know how much he means to you and your family. I hope the vet can discover what is wrong tomorrow. I know how hard it is to have a furbaby not feeling well, especially a cat, who won't act sick until he is really feeling bad. The last time it happened to us, our 7 year old tomcat Grey went from seemingly fine to gone in only a few hours. The vet told us he had what was essentially a feline heart attack. (There's a fancy medical word for it, but I've forgotten it.) My hopes and prayers go with you and Radar, and I hope he will be much better very soon.

Aw, MC - how is Radar? It's always tough when our furry friends get sick, and can't tell us where it hurts.

Sending good thoughts your way, Jessica

Oh goodness Barb! This seems to be a bad time for furbabies. :-( I have to ask, what is water therapy?

Oh Lynne! Good luck on that. If they have not done it allready, let them test for kidney failure - you get the acute type (which my Tammy had) and the chronic type. It's not that the kidneys does not work, it just does not take out the toxins from the body - they can pick this up in the blood works. Saying prayers for her recovery.

Oh no Sabrina! I missed that :**(((((( I'm soooo sorry to hear about your furbaby. *huge hugz* and lots of rays of sun from Africa coming your way.

21 is a rype old age for a Kitty - I think it equals to far over a 100 in human years! So I know he was very much loved and taken good care of, but I know that does not take away the pain of loosing a dear companion of so many years. Keeping you in my prayers dear friend :((

Oh M-C! :(( I'm sending lots and lots of good thoughts and prayers Radar's way. I know you love him dearly and I always love to hear how he is doing. Here's what we do when we give our furbaby's their meds: Get a thick towel and put it over his body and wrap him up in it so that only he's head is open. While one of you are holding him, the other one presses lightly on the corners of his mouth (hand under his jaw) - this will open it up and then quickly give him his meds with the other hand (while still keeping his mouth open). We have found that this is the quickest and least traumatic for kitty and Mommy and Daddy. HTH.

Thank you Judy, We (Fred and I ) are getting a little better and we miss him so. We are goijng to get a couple of kittens but find we are not quite ready yet. We are sorry he did not have an animal friend...but that only made him closer to us..so we decided that we would get two this time so they could have a cuddle friend. I still feel his presence and sometimes seem to see him out of the corner of my eye or reach over to pet him, he always lay as close as he could without touching me or on my lap. I know all of the people on this group are animal lovers and the wishes and thoughts are sincere. I do hope little Radar is going to be well soon. Hugs, Sab

Yes, kidney failure is one of the things they are looking for too. I swear we're probably up to $1000 with test on this little one. Got to do it. I figure she's been so healthy for 10 years it will all even out.

Well we put Radar in the Kitty hospital yesterday so that he could get some IV fluids and a shot of antibiotics and be in a place where he could be closely monitored. His temp is back to normal but he is still not out of the woods. We need him to go and really use his kittly liter. We have a lot of meds to give him. They had to change his antibiotic because he reacted to it the way we react to having soap in our mouths. Not good since it's important that he gets it. We also have to give him a huge amount of hairball stuff which we also have to put in his mouth. Poor kitty. On the plus side he is a lot more like his old self, so that's encouraging and he is eating if only a little bit.

Thanks so much everyone for the support. It has been a difficult few weeks for so many of us with out pets. I wonder why that is! Thank goodness that there are so many of us on here that are pet lovers and understand how attached we get to our furbabies. I hope that all of those that are currently under a vets care will be doing significantly better soon!

I'm glad that Radar is feeling better. Giving a cat medicine is not easy. Hopefully you can get him to take it without too much fuss.

Radar got a check up today. We think it was bacterial, so yepee, I get to continue squirting antibiotics down his throat for at least 3 if not 4 weeks!

He is doing a lot better though, pretty much to his normal self.

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts!
