OT: my son

Oh goodness Theresa! I hope they find out what's wrong.

My prayers are with you and I hope your son get healthy quick. I am so glad that you posted about this. I take my kids in every year for the shots and yearly physical. You just made me realize that they never get any blood tests done. They have some appts coming up and I'm going to have to ask the doctor about that.

Hi everyone!

Just a quick update.... Our son seems to be doing VERY well on the iron treatment. He's perked up, has more color and is taking less naps...all in just over a week's time.

They'll take more blood on Monday and I suspect they'll be happier with the numbers as they should be "coming up". Spot, I think they did run the kidney panel and found the kidney outputs to be *normal*.

I was looking back at some pictures that we took a few weeks ago when one set of the grandparents were here visiting...and NOW I see how pale he is...and tired he looks....and just plain *bleh*. He wasn't a happy kid. My older son is more energetic and the younger is more quiet anyway, so I missed it because that's part of their personalities, but now I know what to be aware of in the future.

I never got my "owner's manual" when either of the kids were born...Can I get a copy of someone else's book? (just kidding)

Thanks for the update,Theresa. Glad there is improvement. Children are so resilient and often we miss that they aren't feeling well because they don't act any differently. Alarm bells always went off in my head when I saw any of my dynamos lying listlessly around. You know there is trouble when they are still and quite. Still holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Theresa....I am really pleased to hear that your little one is showing good signs of improvement and I hope that it continues until this episode passes. I will continue to send healing vibes for him your way. You also need to take care and keep positive...although I am sure that you will worry no matter what anyone says :o) That's what Mom's do!!!! So, glad to hear the iron is working and your son is feeling so much better. And don't kick yourself any more. None of us got a owner's manual what's up with that? :D You're a very good mom for making sure your son gets the proper well baby check ups and they were able to catch this strange occurance.
