Son needs scrapbook

I couldn't be more happy than when my son came home from school and said he needed to make a scrapbook report on a book he read for History class... "The Great Escape." He said he wanted it to look like someone made it by hand during WWII. I had just seen that day some scrapbooks at the dollar tree that had that handmade paper look. They are bound together with jute. PERFECT! I bought the brown and tan one. One dollar. Today were going to make some barbed wire embellishments. Next he wants to make the pages look dirty, so I'll show him how to sponge on some ink. I still can't believe I'm crafting with my son. I'll be sure and get pictures!

if you have some walnut crystals, dip the paper in it and put it in the oven on 350 and age the paper. i've done it with sheet music and a dictionary from the dollar store. just make sure to watch the paper so you don't burn it. have fun

Woohoo! That's great you get to do something with your son. I bet he gets a good grade, too! :-) I can't wait to see how it turns out!
