OT: Postings

Not sure what else to name the heading of this. DH saw what his email address was and contacted excite about it. This is the email he was using snipped-for-privacy@excite.com

He is not sending this from my email address, he is simply putting my email address as the "name". This means that he could do this to anyone of us.

I urge you to block this email address.

I hope no one else gets affected by this and please know that I would never say anything mean about anyone.

Tabitha,

He/she/it got me, he/she/it is now posting as me. However, I'm gonna find his/her butt and land him/her/it in jail.

I absolutely knew you wouldn't post anything malicious on this board. No worries... when I saw the subject headings I knew it wasn't sent by you. I'm hoping you didn't worry one minute about it.

Thank you Lynne. Wasn't too worried. Just couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I have to admit when I started seeing peoples names from the group I couldn't believe the gall of the spammer, but I didn't give it a 2nd thought either.

It has happened to me too. Because WEBTV is so controlled by THEM, which is a blessing in many ways, I could not understand why they could not block crap. Yes they say they have a SPAM filter - HA!!! I have them turned on, do all the things they say like clean out cookies nad empty deleted files, I still get teh crap. What I could not believe is how can one send themselves crap?! I have went arond and around with them and they told me that spammers forge headers and get them and filters.

That is another reason that I recentlt changed my addy. When I start to get more than 10 trash mails a day or getting crap, well it is time to renew!! LOL!

Anyhow I feel and know that the peopel in this group would not do things like that. Yes we have had some low points and disagrements, over subjects and even others, but nothing like that.

Finally unlike ya'll that have 'puters, we WEBBIES can not delete or block the crap. Until those messages get moved far enough down the list where we are reading messages we see them,EVERY TIME WE come on. It really stinks to see that crap and the titles.

Well I all that I hope is that the new people on lie and in here have learned some lessons. I have been in here almost two years and we have averaged one off topic or crap post a month. So we all need to learn, IGNORE them and scarp away!!!

none for 05 (unless redoing or adding to some pages counts!)

Yes he did. That is what got me fumed. He was using my name and my "email" address to post about this.

He/she/it may find this funny but I got a very interesting email from the FBI regarding Internet Abuse and they are interested. But as of today (1/17) I see the idiot is quiet.

Oh - It is so annoying and disturbing? I can't help but feel defensive of the people's whose names they're using and who they are attacking! Why?

Sigh - who knows, right? And the more attention we pay them, the more I am sure they get off on it! RUDE!

Anyway - wanted to let everyone know I KNOW those of you whose names he's used that it's not really you! (did that make sense?:)

And - for us webbies who can't block it....when reading a message, on the same line as the person's name, there is a link that says "show options" and then you can select "report abuse"

I think we should all do that and inundate google so maybe they can take some action too!

Thanks!
