OT: Scrapbook Project at County Fair

My middle DD (age 13) entered the scrapbook project at the county fair this year again. This was her third year in the project. She received the Reserve Grand Champion! She is so excited about this and we're proud of her. The scrapbook has to be based upon a theme and each year she has to add 10 pages to the book for judging. Her book is about her Girl Scout years. They go by a point system and she received 95 out of a 100. She lost 5 points because they felt she did not have enough memorabilia in her album. They said it would have been better if she had added her patches to her book, but DD told them her patches belong on her uniform so they suggested she scan or take a picture of the patches and cut them out and pop dot them on the page. Why didn't I think of that?

Proud Mom, Sandy

I'm thinking of entering one of my scrapbooks in the adult category at the fair. Have to decide tonight as it would have to be entered tomorow. I'm just not sure I want to be "judged"

Congratulations to your DD! If her work is anything like her mom's, her album is outstanding. Way to go for her! That's good that they told her why the 5 points were taken off. I remember in high school going to competitions for band or debate or whatever and sometimes the judges wouldn't tell you why they had to take off points. Very frustrating. Again, congratulations to her! Woohoo!

Congratulations to you DD. It is so cool that they have a scrapbooking category at the fair. I always enjoyed entering things in the county fair when I was younger.
