County Fair results

Ok, so it's time for the annual Augusta County Fair, and I had a grand total of 28 entries....WAY more than last year.

Here's the final tally....and there is room for improvement because some of the entries were the ONLY entries in their category.....

First (14) women's linen pants, child's fleece bathrobe, twill capri pants, lined, tailored skirt, women's button-up blouse, women's knit wrap top, girl's lined cloak, child's fleece long dress coat, women's retro- style dress, women's Queen of Hearts costume, black and gray chandelier earrings, recycled crayons, Thanksgiving apron, patchwork Christmas stocking

Second (8): apron, child's sundress, child's 2-piece playset, girl's tunic dress, knitted scarf, red and gray 3-pc jewelry set, Christmas boo-boo bunny, Christmas placemat

Third (3) Halloween recycled crayons, 4th of July baby booties, St. Patrick's Day bib

No ribbon (3) Valentine's bib, Easter bib, clutch purse (made from an embroidered placemat)

Had to share...wasn't expecting this, but for some reason....there weren't as many entries this year...and the quilting entries were sad...only 4 quilts entered when there were about 20 entered last year.....So, I'm thinking that the results are more due to lack of entries than my abilities....there are some serious improvements that I could see, but apparently the judges didn't think so....

Congratulations on all your ribbons! We all know the amount of work involved in the planning and sewing of all this items! Barbara in SC

That's amazing, Larissa! Congraulations on your many ribbons! Well done!

Congratulations!!! You had to have been working really hard to get so many items made, and you scored great on all the ribbons.

Holy cow, that's great! Congratulations! Pora

Thank you everyone! The good thing about this fair is that we can enter anything we have made from the time the fair starts, until the start of the next year's fair....so a full year to make things that fit the categories they have. Mother has asked me if I was going to enter something in every category of sewing/clothing....I told her not this year. And my big goal for next year is to turn all the ribbons - going back to 2001 - into a quilt. Those will include ones from local fair, and from the NY state fair, but now I'm not sure how to do the layout....county only gives 1-3 but state gave 4th and honorable mentions.....hmmmm...I'm not stressing, nor being overly jubilant...I wish there were more entries to make the judging more competitive....but truly, after the morning I had (DDs 2nd attempt to have teeth removed, everything fine until they went to give her the novocaine, then she freaked out), it was a nice way to end the day.

And THAT'S why I haven't been posting so much...between county fair, kids' school clothing, things for the business.....well, I've basically been sewing non-stop (except for when hubby and I installed the garage ceiling, and then I was too tired to sew), and haven't really had time to post much....I still have pictures that I need to upload and post a link for...sewing items, garage ceiling, AND the goofy kitten.....I will get caught up in the near future...probably once the children go back to school...lol

Larissa,

28 entries??? You are amazing!!! Way to to, congratulations,

Judie
