OT: Sort of...

Well, drove my son, brother and SIL to the SF airport this morning for their

14 hour flight to Hong Kong. I'm very excited for my son to get a trip like this, but I'm already missing him. SOoooooo to make me feel better I planned to hit 2 new scrapbook stores (new to me) on my way home from the bay area. They were both very nice and both were more a combo of stamping and scrapbooking. Stores after my own heart. 2 things I love to do. I had a lot of fun at both and spent about $50 at each. Then I hit a Birkenstock store and bought 2 new pairs as the ones I have are really old and shabby looking. They are the only shoes I can wear with my poor old feet. Another $200 there... so I think I've spent my fun money for the summer. hahahaha

Oh what a sweet hubby he reminded me that the shoes were a necessity.

I'm home now for the next 3 weeks and will get to working on the "One Sheet Wonder" swap info in the next couple days.

How long will your son be in Hong Kong. Sounds like a wonderful experience for him. Are you and dd going to do something special while he is gone?

Your shopping spree sounds like fun. So share, what kind of goodies did you get? And new shoes too, lucky lady!

Erik will be in Hong Kong for 3 weeks. They may leave a day or two early and spend 2 days in Japan. How nice huh?! My daughter has been making a list of things she'd like to do... make taffy, make tie dye curtain for bedroom window and help me paint the living room wall are few of the things.

I got some stickers and paper... tried to resist, but just couldn't, but I kept it pretty low though. I fell in love with some "My Sentiments Exactly"

It was hard to keep to just 2 sets I wanted about 5, but that would have been over $100. And I had another store to go to. haha I bought some Acrylic stamping blocks the free sample ones I had gotten from a plastics store were just too big and I got tired of having to work around them. So, treated myself to smaller more managable blocks for $4.50. Shoes rubbing feet... but not too badly... pretty soft leave on Birkenstocks.

Not ready to throw old Birkies away or I'd have frisbeed one your way. hahaha

DD gets her trip to Hong Kong in 3 years. My brother has this thing that they need to be nearly adults to appreciate a trip like that. In a way he's right. As the kids don't remember when we took a trip to the East coast when they were little. We saw DC, Philadelphia and drove through about 10 states. They barely remember even leaving California.

I'd love to take another trip back east or maybe just the midwest. I have family in Tulsa and Welda and it would be fun to visit a few friends too. ;)

Kids growing up too fast How does one freeze moments in time Oh we love our kids

What a fun trip for your son!

I only have one set of the MSE clear stamps, some retro 50's looking alphs. I've definitely gotten my moneys worth out of them as I use them more than most any of my other alph stamps. The Autumn Leaves line of clear stamps are great too. I've got a few of the flowers and some doodles. Listen to me talking about stamps. I swore when I started scrapping I wouldn't go near stamps because it would open a whole 'nother box of worms.

I know what you mean about your Birks Lynne. I have two pair and would have 'em all if I could. I drive a half hour to Lawrence (home of the Jayhawks) to "my" Birkenstock store. I get catalogs in the mail and just drool over all of the closeouts and cheap prices. Paid full price for both my pair though. 8-(
