We have 4" of frozen sleet now. It is nasty as ever on the city streets and do not even mention side streets and driveways. They say they can not get teh streets cleared because it is so thick. You do not even dare about walking anywherea s it s ICE!

Then on top of this stuff, we are now expected to get 4 to 6 iches of snow this qweekend mixed possibly with freezing ran. UGH! I feel so bad for all the people to the east who have no power and we have only been up to 28 degrees now since Friday. Tomorrow only to be 30.

We needed moisture so I guess we are getting it, altough in a way that is least desirable I guess.

yeah I'm a teacher in tulsa. haven't been to work since friday. locked in with 2 small kids, and a dog, is making me crazy!

LOL!! The company choreographer told told me she hopes the kids can go back to school as they are trying or wanting to kill each other - LOL!! They are teenagers, a boy and girl and have no similar likes.

As far as getting cabin fever I can understand, as the stores are hurting too for lack of business, however I think I would beg to differ as Wally world's lot are packed (as usual here!)

BTW, welcome to RCS!

Dave,

Larry & I (as well as all your friends here) want you to be safe. We are being threatened with it. I can drive in all sorts of conditions being someone who went to school on Lake Ontario in Oswego but as you know we NYC drivers aren't the most cautious.

Be safe.

Hugs, Kate

We had an unexpected 'snow' day today. Maya spent most of the day with the neighbor kids, DH worked online upstairs, and I got absolutely NOTHING done, just spent a lazy day watching tv under a warm blankie in my recliner with my cat in my lap. :-)

Not sure what's happening tomorrow! Guess we'll find out in the morning.

Stay in & stay safe! And I sure hope your power stays on.

SoCal had its own wild weather here today. It was one of those days where the clouds changed all day long. Occasionally, we'd get a glimpse of blue sky. Looked out mid-afternoon & there was a really black cloud right overhead. A minute or so later we heard thunder (that doesn't happen often in L.A., unfortunately). The it started sleeting, quite heavily for a bit. Nearby Westwood (a few blocks to a mile or two away, depending on where in Westwood) had snow! And Malibu really had snow, enough that they had to plow at least one of the main roads.

How was the weather in your area, Cathy?

Alicia

Cold, windy and rainy. We didn't get any snow, but is sure was cold. At lease we haven't had any problems with broken water pipes or mains in our area.

Glad you haven't had any freezing water problems! Those are a pain.

The puddles on the roof of the parking structure next door to my office stayed frozen until midday today (until the sun hit them).

Taped the news last night to see what they said about the snow in L.A. They should a couple of folks packing a cooler with snow in Malibu. They planned to try to sell it on ebay. Oy! LOL

And so they (or someone) did:

Wonder if anyone will buy?

Alicia

Some people will try to sell anything! Did you read the description, they are sending the snow in a plastic bottle in liquid form. Gee, it isn't really snow then. No wonder they don't have any bids yet.

We finally got snow and made my commute to work beautiful. If only the cameras were charged.

The Jackie Robinson Pkwy to the Grand Central Pkwy have trees and the dusting was sticky enought to ensroud the trees in white stuff and made me think of Ansel Adams.

It took 30 minutes (usually 12 minutes) to work but it was a beautiful site.
