Pictures for Webshots

Following my course today I now have a grand total of 3 LO (2 with 2 pages and 1 with 1 page), I plan to create a Webshots account this weekend and post the LOs. If I take photos with my digital camera is there a maximum size for loading to Webshots?

Helen....I just scan and upload or take photos and upload without worrying about size :o) You get the option to upload in full size or screen size (faster downloads for dial-up peeps) Since I have 4 mb broadband I didn't really think about download times but I have recently been selecting the screen size upload to help others who are on dial-up see the LO's faster.

Me again :-)

I have now downloaded Webshots, when i create an album does it need to be set as Private or Public to allow the users of this group to view the pics?

How do i then go about posting the address of the album within the message?

Many thanks for your help.

Helen...if you make the albums private you would have to send a specific link to the group. As this is a Usenet NG and the whole world and his neighbour can find it and view via the link anyway...there is no point!!!! I always make group or sharing albums Public and anything I don't want on public view Private.....You can change them anytime in your control panel:o) You can send a link to an individual/s private email address if you only want to share with that person.

With regard to sharing your webshots account you use a link similar to mine...except you replace the mc_the_2nd bit with your user name, i.e. helen_t or whatever you used. An easy way to navigate to your home page and copy the URL into a signature line in Outlook or OE. My salutation and webshot link is automatically used when I post or email. If I want to remove or change something for a particular reason I just over-type. HTH

Can't wait to see them Helen. I don't know what the limit of size for webshots is, but I think they can take quite a lot. I save the quality to maximum when I scan and have not had any problems so far.
