Punch question?

I have a few punches and i would like to get more uses out of them than just the punch itself...I heard and seen people using their punches they have and creating some cute critters or objects using only thier one punch.. So i have a heart and a star and a circle and a square.... What can be made with these and is there a template or site that i can use to learn more using these basic punches? I need to spice up my pages but am on a limited budget and i want to try and be more creative with what i already own..does anyone have some ideas or patterns to share?? thank you ......cathy

I've never used a punch and don't know much about them. Are all the shapes the same size, is that how they work?

Anyway, if you put two hearts together you could make butterfly wings. One heart and a circle, depending on sizes, could look like a bee. Four hearts with a circle in the middle could be a flower. Three hearts would be a clover, right?

Just try the keywords Punch art in google and you'll find lots of ideas.

You could put several circles together to make a cute little catterpillar. Or put a bunch of circles 'stacked' for snowballs. Circles and squares are also good to stamp on and use as embellishments.

Great ideas Luna! You sure you've never used a punch before? :-) Punches seem to be a hit with RCSers. They come in different sizes, shapes, etc. You can get them in shapes other than geometric shapes. For instance, animals, objects, etc. You can find them in small sizes that punch things out about 1/2" or less, all the way up to circles and squares over 1". Any craft store or LSS will carry them.

I don't have any ideas on creating figures, but you can use the "negative" of the punch aswell to create borders, ie a row of hearts cutouts. Or create embelishments by using the negatives, ie a circle cut out with a square frame. HTH!
