The quilling looks REALLY good. Yes, definitely use it in an album.

Look forward to your opinion and may end up buying quilled embellishments if I don't make my own. I have seen some superb examples on Quilled Creations but I should live long enough to achieve that level of expertise....LOL
That is really beautiful - that would look good on your layout!!!!!! = This is something I would have to learn how to do quilling (never done = it before!) Marcie "Marilyn" wrote in message = news:WRnRd.76358$ snipped-for-privacy@fe1.news.blueyonder.co.uk... Hi Everyone,

Thanks Lynne....will keep practising though as I would need several. I must browse for tutorials on quilling.
Thanks Marcie...have just bought some stuff off eBay for quilling. Here = we go with another papercraft....LOL Guess I will have to give up daily = life and just play with paper....ROTF BTW, send me snailmail info and I = will see if I can help out with the stamp collection. My son recently = sent me stamps from SriLanka and I think I could spare a few, and of = course there is UK stamps.
Some links I've been looking at about quilling.

Thanks for the links Lynne...some of these are brilliant. I am going to spend some time looking through for tips and tricks. Your 2nd link has a great section.
Marilyn -
I think it's beautiful, and would be a great addition to an album!
My 2 cents,
Jessica
Marilyn! I think that looks wonderful! I have never tried quilling but I do like the looks of it. What a great idea for your wedding album.
Hugs, Sabrina in Kentucky
a good friend is a life long treasure
Thanks Jessica...really appreciate people given their opinion. The colour pink used is very similar to the pink in my wedding dress. I would love to be able to produce roses but they look a little more complicated.
When I get the stuff I have bought from eBay there may be clearer instructions for different flowers or I will wait until I go to the Hobbycrafts Show March 3rd where I might get a book and see some live demos :o) I made this using a darning needle with the top snipped off with pliers, then stuck in a wine bottle cork...LOL Marilyn
I say use it!!! Looks good! I really need to try quilling....bought = the stuff, just never used it! lol
HI Marilyn,
I like your flowers. Your's are quite tight. I can't get mine to look so professional.
I'd say go ahead and add it to your layout.
Hugs, Kate
You should try it Kenda...it is pretty easy. I think the more you do the = quicker and more proficient you become. I even made daisies, cornflowers = and a tiny rose. I will put the pictures in my cards & other projects = album. I will save them for card making.
Tip I learned on one site Kate was to put little dap of glue on the start of coil, which holds the centre tight. Did these with a cut down darning needle in a wine bottle cork.....hic, hic, hic....had to drink the wine first...ROFL Look here for some great info.....Lynne sent links through and this was on one site :o)
Marilyn! Why would you want to buy quilled goodies if you can create a = thing of beauty like that? It really looks wonderful. I think you can = rest assured that it would definitely enhance add a lot of charm to your = wedding album. :))

Marilyn, You sound like me........when I complete a LO or project I look at it = with a critical eye and of course find fault. It looks great. I have a note above my table - "If it looks perfect it's = not handmade."=20 I don't quill - yet! But I know if each and every item you make looks = exactly alike it will look like it came from a factory assembly line. = What's individual about that? Keep up the good work. Looking forward to being inspired and challenged = to give it a try myself. Sandy

Definetly us it Marilyn. It looks great.
Sandy,=20 I know that I could never achieve the perfection of some but I like to = produce a good approximation to the real thing, while retaining the = charm of hand-crafted items. I am going to look at the ready-made = embellishments at the Hobbycraft exhibition in March, just to see how = they look and if they have a glaze or finish that makes them stronger. = My fear of making these for a scrapbook is that they may be flattened by = the weight. I know that the decoupage people use a glaze that makes the = work firmer, almost glass-like with several coats. Maybe that is what is = required for using quilling for scrapbooking. Thanks for the positive comments and hope that you will perhaps give = quilling a try.
