Thanks!! I signed up for it!! heehee must have a firehouse sub....
sounds like you guys had a wonderful time!! It so fun to meet other scrappers. I met 4 of them recently from the GA area at the Scrapbook Expo in Atlanta. Lots of fun!
and the pictures were great!!! oh my.. April really has a cow mobile! lol..
She does and Kenda stole a cow spot!!! Honest!!!
I thought her vehicle is great locking, I though those spots were painted on there.
You'll have to ask April (cowchipper) or Kenda how she managed to get the spot... not sue if I can tell..LOL
Hanging head in shame, I did steal a cow spot....but April said I could! She even signed it for me! LOL
First of all - GRRR!! I typed a great, albeit LONG reply last nite and it is not here. Wonder who STOLE that - Kenda?!
I had such a great time planning the get together after I found out when Ronni was going to be here. Work tried REALLY hard to mess up all my plans, but it turned out GREAT none the less! (even though certain unnamed people made fools of us and give us a bad name - Kenda!!) Can't teach manners or lessons to anyone, AND, Katrina could not eat anything without sharing it with her clothes - LOL! Oh, and the neighbors are wonderig what kind of a CLAN or group I have become envolved with that carries on in the parking lot EARLY in the morning, has a 'cowmobile' and a "leader" that dresses up as a cow!!! (won't mention other acts that occured - Ronni!)
I was so happy to finally get to meet the famous (infamous?) MC and the quiet Katrina. From what all have told me back, they really enjoyed the visit, even though it was a bit short, and more so most of them really NEEDED it. That made it all the more worthwhile to me.
I tried to plan someplace to go that would be memorable, the OK City Nat'l Bombing Memorial. I had never been in it myself. The statue of Jesus that was put up a couple years after it happened, and I saw it right after it was put up and that did it. Too emotional fo me. Anyhow I am sure glad I had a special group of people to share the experience with and the weather was so perfect.
We had a couple special places planned to go eat, but ogling each others WORKS doused that, AND oohhing and aahhing all the treasures we gleaned from each other. All that I can say is as we all know, pictures do not do anything justice. You really see a big difference in person, all the little detail things and the colors. MC had the most (wonder why - because she was the elder of the group -LOL!) (now ducking) Anyhow I think my Desert Storm album gleaned as much attention. Again as we know seeing something in pix from someone you know makes it more real. Anyhow I NEED to now learn how to do chalking and paper tearing in a manner that looks great, thanks to Kenda and Ronni.
Again I feel blessed to have had this get together and hope to do it again with some time to sit and learn to do something or crop together. I also hope to also have the chance as time and CHANCES allow to meet others in the group!!! Thanks all for the laughs, the sharing of gifts and talent and more so the truly rewarding cahnce to meet some new people in this "special" family here at RCS!!
I also hope that others who may travel may take into consideration the chance to see or go thru Oklahoma, if not the city here. WE really do have a lot to see and do.
MARSHA BAKER - when you and your family get settled in, you need to make it up here. Just let me know and April would be tickled to pop in too!!
As for the couple others I invited, well I am sad that they could not share in the friendship and fun too. I never receieved any word from them, so better luck next time.
175 for 04OKC Dave
Dave, you should duck!!! I may have been the noble elder but I haven't been scrapping the longest!!! I've just made a lot of gift albums..and you didn't even get to see the mother-in-law's wedding one OR the dog one, LOL. Those two probably make me ancient! LOL
Oh maaannn, some how I have gotten a bad reputation, again! LOL So glad M-C stood up for me....at least I didn't post my reply in the wrong thread! heehee, running for cover
Wow,MC! I enjoyed sharing your pictures with you. I wish I were close enough to have joined all of you. Looks like fun was had by everyone. April, I wanna wear your cow suit. Ronni, your RCS Paper Floozy name tags were great. I remember the day all too well when the bombing occurred. My signifiacant other was there at the time, and I didn't hear from him for days. I was crazy with worry. He was part of the clean up crew, and search efforts. He suffered some nasty nightmares for a long time from that tour of duty. It was moving to revisit that period through your pictures. Hugs to all of you. And I too will one day get to meet you all as well. Until then............
Who did you meet? Fess up. Tell all! LOL
Hugs, Sabrina in Kentucky
