RCS Oklahoma Meet - A Great Success

Yesterday morning at 8:58 am central, Kenda and I pulled up at Dave's placein Oklahoma City. Tumbling out the door came Dave, Ronni and Katrina, soonjoined by April and her DH and the cowchipper mobile. Everything good youhave ever heard about Dave is true. He is a wonderful, thoughtful andconsiderate man who is also a wonderful host. After making sure we gotpictures of each other and the group and spending time exchanging goodiesand looking at each other's scrapbooks (my these people are so talented!) wegot into Kenda's van and the cow mobile and went down to the OKC NationalMemorial. How terrible and wonderful that place is. There are no wordsadequate enough... to describe the place that I had watched on CNN as eventsunfolded back on April 19th, 1995. It is not an easy place to visit, yet itis a place that reminds one of how horrible and how wonderful people can beto each other.We left the magnificent and moving memorial and went on to see the originsof OKC, the Oklahoma National Stockyard. This was of course followed by astop at a scrapbook store, BTW thanks Dave for the wonderful tag and thepaper that you snuck into my bag; they are great! I think I'll use the OKCpaper to scrap the stokyard pictures I took and the tag to head off thewhole trip during which Kenda and I managed to visit 7 different scrapbookstores. But I am sure Kenda will have more to tell you about that!After a wonderful meal at a Mexican Restaurant, Kenda and I took Katrinaback to her car at Dave's and then drove back to Little Rock as Kenda wasstarting her 24 hour shift at 7AM this morning.How lucky I have been to meet these members of RCS! Just like the FL ladiesthat I met in Orlando during Shelley's visit there, Barb Quilts, Deb in ARand Renee, each person is very different, but all are without exception,talented in this hobby but more importantly, at least in my opinion, eachperson is great at living life with kindness and gusto and a desire to sharetheir talents and hobbies with...

LOL I had April sign it. She put on it "this was stolen from..." I plan on scrappin' it along with my pictures of the OKC trip.

Sounds like a great time!! I lived in Oklahoma for a couple years when I was younger. It would be awesome to see the memorial. Just looking at the pictures got me teared up.

Goodies and albums are good.. Of course food is good too LOL :) Your desert storm album sounds neat.

Well, I had a great time and feel privileged to have met everyone that I did! Now anyone that was ever curious can finally see what I look like. I know I like to put faces to names. Thanks for posting the pics M-C.
