Scrapbookers are where you least expect them!

Wow what a day! I was off the last three days from work, and really didn't get a day to scrap like I wanted to.( laundry, kids first days of summer vacation, etc..) I did finally find about three free hours to start on my Barn pics pages. I got about 10- 6x6 pages done! yay! I am anxious to get them done. So anyway, after I got off work today, it was a hectic day as usual, lotsa catching up to do..yadda yadda yadda.....LOL So then I had to come home and decorate a bridal shower cake for my customer who was picking it up at my house at 6pm. (YAY! Extra $$) My youngest DS had a ball game at 6pm..(The game was being played down at the end of our street luckily not far to go), and as I was finishing up that cake and cleaning up, I realized...."OH!....NO!!"..tonight was my turn to help out at the concession stand and I forgot! So, I had to hurry up!! I had oldest DS fill in for me until I could get there, and when I got there I met some other Moms I had not met before. During one of the slower parts of the evening one of the moms in there mentioned to another lady something about scrapbooking. From then on, I had the RADAR on!!! LOL So, I gradually nosed into their conversation and started asking questions about who does it, and where, and how often, and guess what?!! I got invited to attend a monthly crop they have at our Park pavilion. It has an indoor room and they get together one Friday night a month!! Everybody brings a covered dish and snacks and their own drinks, and share tools and etc...Sounds like FUN!! ** I am STOKED!!!!!! ** I don't know hardly anyone here locally to scrap with since my friend moved away last year, so I am really looking forward to going to the next crop that they schedule. She said it probably wouldnt have another one until July, with baseball season still in full swing, and we all have kids that play ball, so chances are I might know some of them anyway! I can hardly wait!!!

Linda

Wow that sounds great! You did a wonderful job of "nosing" :) your way into to possible new Scrapbook friends. Can't wait to hear how the first crop goes in July.

That's great news Linda.... You'll have so much fun at the crop, be sure to let us know how it all goes :o) luv Cec...xxx

I'm jealous. I have a friend and nieces who scrap but my friend has been too ill and my nieces busy with school and after school activities. The lss here that had open crops went out of business and the other lss has one crop on Friday nights and it is really only for the owners friends.

Oh wow! Linda, That's great. I'm sure you will have a great time. Cropping with a group is so much fun. Bet all of you will have lots of ball pictures to do by the time the season ends. Sandy

Im sorry to hear that! I hope your friend gets better! My nearest LSS is 25 miles away in Champaign, not counting HL. They have crops, but I dont know anyone there, and I really dont want to go alone, although I have thought about it! Friday night crops are hard for me to be able to attend because I work most every Saturday. I do need to allot more time for myself to do these things!

Linda

Linda that sounds really exciting for ou as you are such a workaholic!!! You, err WE all need some "ME" time!!

As for taking his pictures, get someone else to take some, he won't realize it as much - LOL! Now that is sneaky!!

That's great Linda. You never know where you will meet new scrapping friends! Have a great time.

On one of those scrapbooking shows, there was a lady on in there who had taken a lot of pictures of her son's team. She made a scrapbook giving each player two pages. The first page was a large photo of the player and the second was action shots. She then took the pages and had them all color copied and bound into a book for each of the players. It was a pretty cool idea and she said the boys just love the books. Our season is over tomorrow. Sam's team made the playoffs and is playing for first place tomorrow. It has been a great year. Wow that sounds like a cool idea! If I wasn't a full time working mother, I would love to do something like that! We still have the whole month of June to get through!

Sounds like you had a busy day with a wonderful outcome! I was just invited to a monthly crop this week in my neighborhood. I can't wait either. It is always nice to know people locally to talk scrapshop and get together in addition to this wonderful group of people.

Hugs, Tammy

How neat Linda! That's great that you met some more scrappers. And even better that you'll get to play with them. :-)
