Scrapbooking Purchases Today :)

I did a little scrapbook buying today! The first stop at WalMart yielded a corner punch, Papier glass finish clear, chalks in pastel shades, and two fancy papers scrap packets. I was disappointed in the available scrapbooking supplies there. There is a lot less than there used to be. The next stop was Staples where I picked up a cool color paper collection just the right size for using in the Sizzix and a package of adhesive vellum. Then by fluck I found an *actual* scrapbooking store! It had four rooms of scrapbooking supplies and they do classes. I think I just found the perfect new hangout. I only bought page protectore, a neat title and a page sized house stencil. I would have shopped more but I had an appointment.

The Papier glass finish is a new to me product. I thought is would be nice to give more dimension to some of the computer generated titles. I've have two samples drying to see how it works. The down side is you have to allow 3 hr dry time. The adhesive vellum is another new to me product.

I often scrap with three women from DH's old company. Due to their jobs, these ladies travel together extensively. If you name the city, they can tell you all the scrapbooking stores, discuss the merits of each, and tell you whether it is worth dropping by. I get SUCH a kick out of hearing what they've bought on their last "business" trip. Sometimes when they are out of town for a few days, they will each take some photos and minimal supplies and work together in their rooms or drop into stores for evening crop sessions! They don't tell the guys they work with because the guys would tease them, but they say it sure beats hanging out in bars or going out to heavy meals.

Yea! You found an LSS! It's always nice having an LSS (or 2 or 3!) around. I'm proud of your restraint in buying just a few things. LOL

Viv, that sounds like a great idea to me. We are going on vacation in April, and I am also seriously considering taking some of my scrapping stuff along. One of the resorts we are visiting are really in the "bush" - it's a hot spring, not having any TV or cellphone reception. DH is addicted to anything to do with water and watersports, so he will be entertained all the time, but I think, I'll be able to get some quality scrapping time out there in nature! :))
