Scrapping Time

the time I get to scrap is widely varied. I am usually busy with too many other things lately. That is the reason I started making the page kits and that way I can just grab one and work on it as time allows or when I go to a LSS to scrap I can take them. If I don't get it done I can just slide everything back into the large envelope and put it back until another time. I've been trying to scrap a little every day. Today my project is to put more page kits together.

I don't scrap as much as I would like to either, but when I get inspired most is by a layout concept.

I look at the architecture around me on my drive home and such - and just by looking at someones window or door or even their entire front house - I get an idea for a LO and then I sketch it. By that time, the photo's I want to use come to mind - then the journalling follows.

And in the end I know exactly how the entire page unfolds (sometimes litteraly) without even starting it yet.

I love that!

I wish I could see the LO done before I get started but I just can't. I think M-C works that way as well. She gets it all worked out in her head and then works like a mad woman without sleep or food and then BOOM! She's done! LOL My mind just doesn't work that way. :(

I digitally scrap almost every day. I paper scrap about twice a month but when I do I will scrap from morning till night. I just hate cleaning up the mess after I paper scrap.

Lately, my scrapping has been few and far between. LOL My goal was to scrap a layout a week. It hasn't happened...sad to admit. But when I do get to scrap, it usually takes me a couple hours or so to do a 1 - 2 page LO. I"m sure if I would start putting kits together, I could more in that time frame.

That's me! I go to a crop once a month to scrap. I can't get much done at home. I think the main reason for me is tht I work out of my home so I have to leave to relax. Sandy

Geez, doing a Lo per week wouldn't let me get everything done! I have

2 albums to journal, one album for my latest vacation, which needs to be done before I forget the details... And then I have this memory album for regular items, like dinners with my husband and meets with friends and the last thing I got on is my bday, from LAST YEAR!!! I'm over a year behind in that one! I got so much to do and at work I'm so worked up but when I get home, I can't find the strength to clean up some space so ? can scrap... I wish I got scrap buddies or something... like regular meets just for that! Hard to do though, with noone around sharing the same hobby! I guess I need someone to push me a little!!!

I'm way behind myself. DD's baby album is still in her first year....and she's 8. LOL DS's baby album hasn't quite made it through the first year, either....and he's almost 6. My memorial album for my furbaby Bagheera isn't finished, and we had to have him put to sleep in 2001. I started a LO for our Mexico trip from last summer, over a month ago...it's not finished either. LOL I used to stress about not being "caught up" in my scrapping. And then I realized, the pictures are always going to be there. I've organized most of them, so I know the dates on them and the occasions, etc. So I'm not worried about it too much anymore. Yes, I do want to be caught up in my scrapping, so all I'm doing is the current photos, but does anyone ever get caught up? LOL I would hate to make others feel bad because I'm caught up and they aren't. LOL

As for needing someone to push you a little....that's what we're here for! :-)

I don't think I'll every get caught up. I just scrapped Melissa's 3 month baby picture yesterday and she is 23!

Thank you, Cathy. I don't feel quite as bad about being behind now. My oldest is 31 and I have not yet started on his baby pictures. I got his fiance hooked on scrapping and I hope she will jump in and scrap some of his pictures for me. I definitely need the help and don't mind at all. Sandy

LOL Don't feel bad. My Mom wants to scrapbook, but just hasn't been able to start. (I"m hoping I can help her out with that when we go see them this summer.) So when she does start, she has 3 kids...ages 40, 39, and 34. Then 3 grandkids, ages 8, 5, and 4. Plus all the old family photos of her grandparents, great parents, etc. That's a lot of years to catch up on! LOL
