Sizzix

Ok... I know that I am not new to scrapbooking, but some things I am new too. My SIL called me tonight and asked if I would be interested in teaching scrapbooking at her job, (she works at AC Moore) on the weekends. One of the things that she asked me was if I knew how to use Sizzix, I told her NO but I knew of it. So, my question is to you guys is, is there a way for someone to show me how to use it... help me with anything dealing with it.. Thank you all :) Yanya

Hi I'm new to the group, and am just getting familiar with how it works. I'm a scrapbooker (of course :-) Anyway, I think if you go to any large local Scrapbook store, they will have several different machines there, and they'll be happy to demonstrate them for you. Who knows, maybe you'll even decide to buy one and practice with it :-)

Hey there..I love using the sizzix. It's really easy to use. I agree with the poster above, if you have a local scrapbook store, try it there. They will help you figure it out. The main thing I try to remember is to have the cardstock/paper cut down to fit the sizzix. It's a lot of fun and there's so much you can create with it..Hope you have fun learning.

Hi Yanya,

Sizzix is very easy to use. Think of a very large hole punch. You cut the paper down to size (5x7) put it on the white board, put the die on top (black side down) and slide it under the large bar under the arm. Slide the white piece, paper, die under and then push the arm down then up and then slide the "sandwich" back out. Unless you are using a large die then you will have to slide it down twice to cut it fully.

Take the die off and pick up the paper and whalla you have a die cut.

Which AC Moore does your sister work for?

Welcome to the group, gwr. You're right, most of the stores I've been to will have either the Sizzix or the QuickKuts available for use. It's one way for them to sell their products. Plus it's a service that brings many shoppers back into their store. I've gone in several times to use their dies rather than buy one I know I won't get enough use out of to make it feasible to buy. Well this weekend I am going to a demo at the store to get a feel of the store and try to get people to come to my class. I probably won't start teaching until the 2nd weekend of March.. I have not decided what I am going to do yet. I am excited but nervous at the same time, Yanya
