Went to the Rag Shop today.

I told DH that the Rag Shop was having a closing down sale so he took me there today and told me I could spend a hundred dollars - well, it was a big disappointment. They had got rid of most of their scrapbooking stuff before their closing down sale (they only had one pathetic little rack of paper and a rack of stickers, and they used to have a whole AISLE for scrapbooking with more stuff at the back of the store!) Everything I'd been hoping to get wasn't there any more, and what they did have was only 20% off (which still made it too expensive for what it was in my book...) Some of their other stuff was discounted more, but I didn't see ANYTHING that was the full 50% off except their metal patio furniture.

I got 12 sheets of peely stickers because you can't get them any place else except online... six little rolls of pawprint ribbon... a small heart punch... a packet of plastic bobbins for wrapping fibers... and two small bunches of spring flowers to take apart for scrapping. I may go back at the end of next week to see if they've dropped their prices any more, but I might not bother...

I went to mine with a police officer colleague because I wasn't in the mood to go home. (dh in dog house)

I was upset that there wasn't a thing over 20% off except one section of 40% which I wound up buying the wrong size anyhow.

NOTHING was 50% as advertised in the window. My colleague was furious. One section was 70% only because it was patterns and it was near a leaking airconditioning duck so everything was soppy wet.

I bought stickers (no shock there huh) and the wrong size cheetah refill. My colleague bought a candle and a basket. after asking where the 50% stuff was he said we didn't look hard enough, several women on line said then they were blind too as they didn't see 50% either. My colleague gave the store owner a ticket for false representation and misleading advertising.

Thank god I don't speak Arabic because I think he said something nasty in Arabic towards us.

Then again thats why they are going out of business.

Sounds like your store was nasty even by ragshop standards! I was very disappointed in ours because their 'everything must go clearance' obviously wasn't very 'must go' if they were only taking 20% off! The ribbons in mine were 30% off, but all the fabrics and embroidery stuff and scrapbooking things were only 20% off, which left them too expensive for me to be interested... I might go back on the weekend and see if they've reduced stuff any more, or then again I might not. 'Up to' 50% off seems to mean that everything in the store was less-discounted and you weren't going to find anything at that price if you looked all day. :(

Ummm, no he is/was in the dog house.

It is just frustrating that he says he'll do something only to find out that it is too hard so he doesn't do it. I mean I priced everything and grouped everything for him to sell at a yard sale only to find out that he really didn't want to do it but was too afraid to say anything. Yes I'm outspoken and ornary but one of us has to be in this relationship.

I work saturdays and he said that he'd help around the house. I'm still waiting.

I've just been so frustrated with him. You, Dave & Dorothy, saw how small our living arrangements are. Heck you guys were surprised to see where I scrap and craft. Is it too much to ask that he help around the house?

Maybe I'm jealous but he's been home all day dealing with the IRS which by the way got to hard for him to go to the file cabinet and pull out 2002 taxes WITH CONFIRMATION SLIP THAT IT WAS SENT. so he is sound asleep on the couch and I'm multi tasking -- posting here, cooking dinner, doing laundry, and packing for a weekend so I can see my niece (who called and demanded Tate Visit Sarwah), charging the camera, digging out a recordable button so I can capture Sarah reading, and maybe if I'm a good girl I get to put the laundry away, change the sheets and maybe watch TV. So yes I was/am a little P**ed Off and put him in the dog house but he deserved it.

Dave I don't think you're speaking of the same man I met. Maybe Kate has two different husbands, LOL! I had such a great time meeting Kate and her DH, I was hoping for a return visit. Unfortunately, it looks like Rick willl be getting taped for the CLE videos right here from now on. He just finished a taping yesterday.

Oh my Gosh, Kate! I probably shouldn't be laughing but ... but... I just can't help it! You sound so irate you should almost be standing there, cartoon like, with an iron in one hand, a wood spoon in the other, the tax return sticking out of a big pocket of your apron. By the way in my mind's eye you are pointing and shaking the spoon as you talk to us via the computer screen. Behind you, your DH is sleeping on the couch with zzzzz in a buble over his head!

I probably should join Dave and go hide somwhere!

God I sounded like a be-atch didn't I. I was just so furious.

90% of the time he is a great guy. It's the 10% that tickes me off.

I'm at Elizabeth's and playing hooky.
