Where to shop online???

Hello everyone, I'm afraid I'm still having problems with newsgroups. My news server barely keeps the messages on long enough for me to step away from the computer. So, I'm afraid I can't "talk" much but I do read on Google (replying on google is a nightmare!)

Anyway I have a friend coming to visit in June. She has said she will bring me stuff if I order it and have it sent to her house. Now since I don't often order on line I don't don't know which store is good. & I find the the prices differences between shops is rather shocking! I'd like to order some gadget-y things, rotary blades, hand quilting needs, steam a seam, wash away stabilizer (for PP), then (could be at a sperate store) some fabric.....

Can anyone recommend a good store for online shopping? Good selection of stuff at a good price with out gouging on the shipping?

Thank you so much in advance! Emilia

Emilia, I like equilter.com for fabric. They're easy and fast, and they always send what I've ordered -- not a couple of inches less. Their fabrics are good quality, too -- just like what's at my LQS. If you sign up for their newsletter, you'll know when they get new stuff in and when they're having a sale (which is frequently ).

Watch out for equilter. They play dirty. I ordered a collection - just eighths, I think - of reds for my Heart Strings quilt. Every piece they sent me was just gorgeous. Made me want to order a bolt full of every one of them. That place could become addictive. Wow. Polly

Hello! I like

formatting link
and
formatting link
as my two favourite places. I used to have others, but they either do not ship overseas now or have closed. I also recommend
formatting link
and
formatting link
as very reasonable, great selection and good customer service! I get quite a few of the Australian magazines from stitch-n-frame. All four have nice fabric at good prices though.

I have to "second" previous nominations of equilter and stitch-n-frame. I would also like to add

formatting link
mainly because you can buy fq's of every fabric they have, and their customer service is wonderful. Also
formatting link
- they have an extraordinary selection of batiks, and
formatting link
- because they have great fq bundles. Also,
formatting link
because they have a fabulous thread section, and also outstanding customer service.

I live in Australia and have ordered from both equilter and craftconn and have been very happy with their customer service and postage rates.

You had me there for a second or two Polly. I thought...what??? Equilter playing dirty?? They are so good! Then I continued on....you devil you!

Ah, but you see . . . an ordinary business would have used assembling 'eighths' as an opportunity to get rid of their leftovers. Equilter used it as an opportunity to show off their finest. Brilliant, methinks. Polly

LOL! I know what you mean, Polly. So many beautiful fabrics......every time I go looking for one specific item, I wind up order quite a lot. Almost as bad as my LQS Quilter's Market and Bella Quiltworks. Every time I go to the east side of Tucson, I end up poorer but with a beautifully enhances stash.

It is actually my LQS and they are huge! They only carry the good quilting materials from the name mills. It is 1/2 hour from me and now that I will be working I will be ordering from them and the PO can do my driving. They have notions, patterns, books, FQ, FE - absolutely anything you might want and you can count on getting the best quality available. They also ship overseas, and she showed me a huge stack of fabric she was sending to Australia.

Hope you have time to take a look.

Howdy!

Don't forget JoAnn's online; always a sale available, and you can save a significant amount on your gadget-y things.
