What scrappy gifts did you get for X'mas?

My MIL got me my first Xyron machine. Its the small one, but she got me the starter machine plus two different cartridges to go in it...I haven't had a chance to use it yet - but if people have suggestions/tips for using it, that would be great. My husband took me shopping at our local scrap store instead of filling my stocking (12X12 paper doesn't fit really well)...I got a bunch of different papers, some great stickers and embellishments. My SIL got me a great Scrapbooking book - it is big and has a bunch of different techniques in it and in the back it has a ton of templates to use for layouts, alphabets, etc. It should be fun to use in the new year. I got myself the 2006 Daily Project Calendar from Autumn Leaves - I can't wait for that. It should be very inspirational! I'm in the process of packing for our move this next weekend, but after that I can't wait to get my new scrapping space organized and start using it!

Hope you all had a great holiday and wishing you a great 2006!

I have not yet looked at the 2006 Calendar from Autumn Leaves, but I used the 2005 one and loved it. Lots of great ideas and techniques. I kept it on my computer desk. One of the boys (2nd grade) at my daycare also liked to look at it. He changed the page every morning for me when he arrived at 6 am. One day he looked at the new page and said he loved it and wanted me to make him the page so he could take it home and put it in his book. He is in my DS's cubscout group and I had done a scrapbook workshop with the boys last spring. He also is the one who is always volunteering to use the sizzix to make me diecuts. I made the page that night and took his picture the next morning and printed it for his book. Sandy

Well I got a couple scrap kits from my niece. They're pastels and I don't really use pastels. I may put them together into an empty baby album for her though. I think that's prolly why she got pastels, she was thinking of something she would use. I'd love to get her scrapping. I know she's got a creative crafty innerself. I can tell when she looks at some of the stuff I've made. Oops, sorry, I'm babbling as usual. Back on track...I bought myself a mimi tote at WM in preparation for the barn. I also got a very early b-day gift from my mom. A Generations rolling cropper. I got it nearly three months early because it came from Micheals w/ a 50% coupon and she didn't know the length of their return policy. They've been advertising the mimi rolling one for a month or so. I'm taking todays 50% coupon and going to see if they have any left. I might exchange hers.

I don't think so. It is a plexiglass holder with heavyweight cards.that are

6x7. Each card is a calendar day with ideas for things such as LO's, Books, gifts and photography ideas. Now that my calendar is done I'm sorting it into the categories and taking it to Staples to have them bound. It will be easier for me to shelf it rather than figure out how to store the individual cards. This is what the 2006 one looks like:

LOL! Thanx Sandy! What a "duh" moment for me. When I read your post, I somehow imagined your computer Screen Desktop with a type of calender programme on it, showing you a new scrapbook idea/technique each day! That would also be neat tho! Thanks for the link :)

Hey Judy...

I got the calendar...it is really nice and I already used the first page as an inspiration to complete a page of wedding pictures from my wedding two and a half years ago!!!! I had not scrapped any. I'm not sure I like the way it turned out yet...but at least it got me to do a page. I've pulled out some pictures to complete the next two days at a crop I'm going to tomorrow night. It has a lot of great ideas, but uses some stuff I don't do yet, so I have to kind of adapt the projects. It is great for scraplifting though! :)

I didn't get any scrapping stuff but many other things I wanted. I got something scrapbook related - it's a book about photo editing. I never knew how to get the most out of my pictures. I hope the book will help. So far I like it a lot.

Is it for a particular software?

My DH has told me for years that he does not know enough about my hobby and its tools to get me anything scrapbook related as a gift. But this year he got me a ScrapBoss so I can do some embossing. He hid it and wouldn't put it under the tree until Christmas Eve 'cause he figured I would guess what it was. My parents gave me some handmade papers and fossilized leaves for a LO for Christmas and Some Thomas Kinkade print

12x12 paper and templates for my birthday.

My DD's each got a 8x8 starter scrapbook from my sister. I wish she had my name in the Christmas draw this year 'cause she gave lots of scrapping gifts.

Now I'm anxious to get back to scrapping. I don't think I've completed a LO since July. My task for tonight is to prep a CD of pictures for printing tomorrow so can get back to playing with my new stuff.

I got a rolling tote from my sister. It is monogramed and has Mickey Mouse on it. It was such a surprise. Can't wait to fill it and take it to a crop at the end of the month!

I also bought myself a new sizzix alphabet as an early Christmas gift.

I was really spoilt, my husband asked me to write a list of a couple of things I wanted from our local scrapping store (where I also work)...the list included a paper piecing pattern book, two liquid chalk ink pads, a punch, a wonderful book on using slide mounts for embellishing and a carl rotary trimmer. I was really amazed and a little emotional when I opened the parcel under the tree and it included all of the above!

One of my cousins got me the "Big Book of Scrapbooking" from Memory Makers. Has a cool section on "Cutting Edge Photo Cropping", which I'll have to figure out how to do digitally, but it makes for interesting photos. One of her sisters gave me a subscription to a genealogy magazine (which is related, since I scrap my family history).
