Can anyone explain to me what a cover stitch is? What is the purpose of a cover stitch machine?

Thanks!

Top row, right hand four pictures. You can click on the picture to show a larger view. It's the stitch used on hem T-shirts and other stretchy items. Also used sometimes over the neckline and raglan seams of sweatshirts.

NAYY, and I probably won't buy the 936, but it's the best site I could find for pictures.

That cover stitch is the only reason I'd upgrade from the 910, but I get almost as good a finish with the double needle on the Lily. I'm thinking of ordering a triple needle, just for fun... Anyone tried one?
