When i sew the elastic on the waist and leg openings of the bikini bottom, the fabric shifts and my stitches end up crooked. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using a walking foot?

Lycra, spandex stretch nylon/poly fabrics are slippery.

tips and advice i've heard , read or tried over the years

- The walking foot was already suggested.

- Use a stretch-able stitch.

- Use lighter thread tensions.

- Use a stretch, ballpoint or universal needle.

- Pre-tensioning the fabric while sewing can help.

- Try to sandwich the fabric and seam between piece of tissue paper=20 which you rip off after seam is done.

- Nancy Z. suggests a roller foot ???

that is all i remember right now. robb

I'll check. Thanks.
