San Francisco fabric shops

Dear fellow stash builders:

I am fortunate enough to be able to spend a day in San Francisco in a couple of weeks, on a flight stopover. I know about Britex but can anyone recommend any other really good fabric shops that I should visit. I have transportation, as a friend is picking me up at SFO. We'll be going out to Livermore first then back into SF so anywhere worth stopping up the peninsula is on the map too.

Many thanks

If you will be going out to Livermore, the by all means stop at Stonemountain and Daughter. It's in Berkeley.

I don't know how much time you have; but if you have time, stop at Satin Moon in SF.

Uh, you do know that Livermore is in the opposite direction from the Peninsula, right? LIvermore is SE of San Francisco; the Peninsula is north.

Whatcha going to in Livermore? Anythign interesting that I might want to put on my agenda as well? I only live a 30-minute drive from there.

Try Stone Mountain and Daughter, on Shattuck in Berkeley.

Here's a few I frequent:

Discount Fabrics on 4th in SF, Fabric Outlet at 17th & Mission in SF, Fabrix Factory Outlet at 101 Clement (Satin Moon is next Door, but can be expensive) Discount Fabrics on Irving Darlene's Fabric 2831 Mission (a few blocks from Fabric Outlet) Joanne's in Colma about 20 minutes south of SF, but this is a national chain.

Cheers,

Alan

If you get to Berkeley, you might want to go to Lacis. I would.
