Serger - Timing maybe?

I just received a Juno 3434D model serger from a friend of mine, and it was= bounced around in the mail a lot, and I think it knocked the timing off or= something. When I lower the needle to try and thread it, the needles are h= itting that little thing that moves back and forth when the needle goes bac= k and forth - the little loop thing. I don't know anything at all about ser= gers - I don't even know how to use it, but since I can't make a complete t= urn of the needle nob, there is obviously something wrong. I've changed the= needles to brand new needles, because at first I thought they were bent, b= ut the new needles didn't change anything. Please tell me someone else has = been through this before and it's an easy fix! I definitely can't afford to= get it fixed somewhere (and the closest place to fix it is at least 65 mil= es away). Thanks!

It is not an easy fix and you should make the 65 mile trip. When shipping sewing equipment it is always best to ship in the original box with original packing. I see a lot of damaged machines purchased from Ebay or over the internet improperly packaged and destroyed.
