Do you mean the underside of the material?? Not quite sure what you are talking about.
yes, when I turn the fabric over, the bottom row of stitches are snaky. Cindy

If loops of thread appear on the bottom of the fabric, it usually means something is wrong with your *top* tension adjustment. Try re-threading, and make sure your presser foot is in the *up* position, so the thread passes between the disks. If this doesn't solve the problem, give the entire thread path a thorough cleaning, including "flossing" between the tension disks if you can (you don't mention what brand/model machine you have.) Another possibility is that your needle needs to be replaced with a new one.
