Spent the day at the quilt festival in Houston

I had a wonderful day along with a neighbor ogling fabric, notions and finished products at the International Quilt Festival downtown. Tomorrow is the last day and it is well worth the $10 just to see everything. I didn't think the prices where that cheap but the selection was amazing and very inspiring. I did not purchase any quilting fabric as I do not have time for that but I did by some glass beading supplies to make a necklace (for moi). I paid a visit to Hancock fabrics this evening and bought fabric for a bunch of projects which I will be describing later.

I would recommend that anyone in the vicinity make the trip just for the sheer joy of seeing all that beautiful fabric under one roof.

You are making me jealous!! A dear friend of mine just moved from Houston to Katy and is hosting a couple of other friends for the IQF. She keeps asking when I'm coing down - she thinks I should just bring both kids with me...um, they are 6 and 3..that won't work too well!! Maybe in a couple of years

Leave the kids with the hubby and come for a 3-day weekend next year. It is no place for small children! I did see several families with strollers, loaded down with snacks and toys, but I still don't think they got to see so much. It would be worth the trip.
