Technical Question about Interfacing

I have cut out Vogue 1069,

using a lightweight sort of double knit material, no stretch to speak of. The instructions use lapped seams for construction but I was going to do it with normal seams. However I noticed the pattern doesn't require interfacing. I found this odd.Opinions anyone? I was going to use a lightweight Fusiknit interfacing for the front/collar piece, which is all one piece, and the front facing. I am a fairly advanced sewer.I contacted Vogue and this was their response: Dear Judy,

Thank you for your email concerning Vogue Pattern 1069. Whenever possible we try to provide our home sewers with the information they desire. This pattern is a designer original, we have to follow there standards. If you choose to use interfacing we cannot say what the outcome would be as it has not been tested that way.

Just taking a WAG, the pattern information says "Note: Wrong side of fabric will show." So possibly the concern is for interfacing showing where you would not want it to. But I would probably use fusible knit to interline the collar and CF, after testing to see how it changes the hand.

They actually responded with "...we have to follow there[sic] standards."??? Wow, how sad.
