Any inside information on what is happening with the Glaser tool line would be helpful in making a few short term decisions on a bowl gouge purchase I am planning....
Thanks

I bought a Glaser Hi-Tec 5/8" Bowl Gouge, A-11 steel from CET at the AAW Symposium in Louisville. It's a very nice tool. Grinds and holds an edge well. I understand the flute is U-shaped instead of the classic V-shape that Glaser used. I doubt it makes any difference in use. I like the tool. As to availability, I can't say. I found out later that the CET booth at AAW was intended to debut the new line of tools, not actually sell them. Don't know how I got lucky.

I am trying to remember why Jerry Glaser used the "V" shape - he had a specific reason, and he explained it to me , but I forget..... I think it had to do with tool life....
I would guess that a V-shaped flute might leave a smidgen more metal in the gouge.
