I have a book on woods that puts Snakewood at a S. G. of 1.3 dry. The book places Lignum at about 1.23 and Cocobolo at 1.1.

That certainly agrees with my experience but I've seen books with cocobolo in the .85 range, if I remember right. I've also seen two purpleheart boards, same size, side-by-side, and one weighed at least
25% more than the other.Bill
