Welcome to the "club" George. As the (I believe) original proponent of the non-warpin' non-crackin' magic elixir "Camel Urine" (tm) might I mention a point you may be unaware of? It must be collected fresh/daily and only from bi-sexual camels..... Hope this helps others in their search for the elusive "magic" wood drying potion. Also keep in mind it's a hell of a lot cheaper than LDD once you have purchased the camel ........

When visiting a replica (1600) of an old Arcadian village I learned that urine from single teenage males use to be collected. Natural wool was soaked in it before applying dark colors dyes. So, for the lack of Camel urine young human male urine could be use as a substitute? Maybe there is an expert in knitting that could validate that statement.

That would be for dromedaries. Bactrian urine contains 1ppb chloramphenicol, which is, of course a great antibacterial....

Maybe someone would care to research this in more depth. Ah, now where is Steven D. Russell when you need him?

Hey, guys! I am getting a little worried about you. All this obsessing about bisexual camels and young men's urine. Maybe you ought to take this to another newsgroup/forum

You take the skin off and soak it in the water, and then you scrape it with a sea shell. Some fish you have to scale; some fish you don't. Like pike and white fish, you've got to scale it; you soak it in urine. The urine has to come from a young boy baby before weaning. It doesn't contain any chemicals, just momma's milk. For thicker skins, you have to use the urine from an older boy, around the time his voice changes....

Maybe this would work with wood, but, sheesh! And you guys were complaining about the mess of LDD!!*G*

I accidentally tried a similar test, only substitute cow for camel . But my results were flawed, I think because of the high "particulate matter" in my test brew. Anyone interested in this test can view an old thread here...
