Mini Video Camera

I tape the demo for our club's meetings every month using a camcorder and then copy the tape to VHS and DVD and add them to the club's library. It would be nice to be able to switch to a second camera angle easily when doing the taping.

I know that Woodchucker's Supplies sells a mini video camera called the Demonstrator's Mini Video Camera. I saw them in operation at the Pasadena AAW Show. Was wondering if there are turners using similar type surveillance cameras or anything else for that matter that they are happy with. What type of equipment, what specs to look for, sources, etc.

I'm not sure what you're asking - do you want to be able to use a single camera and use it to capture multiple camera angles? (obviously this doesn't make much sense, so I doubt it).

If you're inquiring about what kind of Mini DV camcorders would be good to use for a second camera, then that makes more sense to me.

I have a JVC Mini DV camera, and as long as the lighting is good it works very well. It isn't $49 like the other responder quoted, but it has a lot of features. Probably for taping demos, it is more than you would need and/or want to spend. One thing to keep in mind is the format that the cameras you're using will be compatible with, so that editing the final version will be easily accomplished. I have absolutely no video editing experience, so you probably already know a lot more about this than I do.

Our club (Nor-Cal Woodturners) uses two of the Woodchucker's Supplies cameras and a swithch box they also sell. Works extremely well.
