Don't Feed The Troll Dave in Fairfax
I know it's a troll posting, but not one that is being monitored or will get a response. It's a mass mailing to all the newsgroups. I've seen it a bunch of places. Guess I was just expressing my indignation at the stupidity of the silly season of politics.

Trouble is it was crossposted all over the place. The first time you trimmed some headers, the second time your trimmed more but still had two newsgroups. You respond, several more in other groups respond and you got a bottleneck. Like what was going on in rec.woodworking which was the reason I quit going there.
I'll repeat something I said earlier. Trolls do not run people off because a couple of mouse clicks gets rid of him. If everyone does it and nobody responds, he effectively ceases to exist. But when everyone gets outraged and has to express it things start clogging up like they did on rec.woodworking. And when things slow down to a crawl like I was dealing with, I left. The troll didn't do it -- it was everyone that insisted on responding that finally ran me off.
You mean like you and I just did!
Exactly, although I did at least strip all the other newsgroups and just posted here instead of dumping in all the other newsgroups. I keep hoping someone will actually listen to the suggestion but I know it isn't going to happen. Be a shame if what happened at the rec.woodworking happened here. Shame it happened there for that matter. All it took was one person in a tizzy over her dog and she cross posted to the wreck and a pet newsgroup and attracted the attention of the Puppy Diddler or some such crap. Not the woman's fault, just an honest question due to her concern for her dog (I believe it did die) but the troll popped up and he began cross posting to even more groups and attracted more trolls and it grew to ridiculous proportions. Just because a lot of people in a lot of different newsgroups had to express their outrage at his postings.
Anyway, trolls scored zero but the concerned newsgroup citizens ran off at least three people from rec.woodworking due to the crap level. That's my personal knowledge -- I suspect it was significantly higher.
Hey, Scratch, the crap level on the Wreck is waaaaaaay down, and has been for quite a while.

How come we choose from just two people to run for president and 50 for Miss America?
Way down indeed. I'm barely seeing any kills these days.

Seems like I've thought that before and been totally wrong. Might check it out later. I'm in the process of house hunting and selling currently and don't have the time to fool with it now.
