Source for #3 MT drive centers?

Hi--

Anyone out there know where I can buy spur drive centers with a #3MT? I have a 3-->2 adapter, but it puts the work farther out and adds the opportunity for vibration.

Cheers! Roger

Another option is a drive center that threads onto your spindle. Check out

yet another option would be a 3 to 2 adaptor sleeve for your spindle

they are available at places like J&L Industrial and will be listed as something like 'Morse taper socket'

I think Serious Lathes use a 3MT drive. They should be easy to find with a quick search.

There are three kinds of people, those who can count and those who can't.

Thanks for all the responses. I thought I would log the current answer for the archives. Lots of people used to make or sell them, but the two options I've been able to track down that are actually purchasable (an 8-12 week special order at that) are the Axminster four prong center and the Steb Center from Sorby, which they've just released in a #3MT.

Sadly, neither Grizzley nor Serious Lathe still carry them. Craft Supplies was happy to identify sources and offer to order them for me.

Thanks, Roger

A couple other options would be screw on centers and lathe chuck centers.
