Turning a tee ball holder

Good morning. I was wondering if anyone here has turned a tee ball holder, and if they have a link to any pictures of them, or plans of some sort. This would actually be used by a young feller to practice with, so it would have to be sturdy.

Any opinions on dimensions, etc would be great.

As someone who has a five year old tee ball player, I'd recommend buying one of the rubber ones. Many sporting goods places have them in the $10-$15 range. While you could turn one, I woud expect it to have a short lifetime before the cup end is chipped etc. The "young feller" certainly doesn't need the frustration of a stand that doesn't hold the ball so well. Also, in the case of an errant swing I would rather see the bat hit rubber than a sturdy piece of wood. Replacing a damaged bat is possibly more 'spensive than buying a stand.

When I was a kid we made practice tees out of a piece of radiator hose fastened to the end of a PVC pipe which was then either driven in the ground or attached to a piece of plywood.

fast, cheap, easy, reusable
