A "rant"...

I have had some who truly believe they are doing me a favor. After all, I don't "work", they feel, therefore I must need something to fill my time, right??

HAHAHAHA I'm sorry but that hit me very funny! Whenever Matthew's face is a bit red from a fever I tell him (been doing it since he was a little kid) that he's flushed... therefore he has a "toilet face".... but having her baby be born into the toilet, I would so tease that kid (when she became old enough not be hurt by it of course) something awful about that. Of course, so would the rest of my family who all have very warped senses of humor. LOL

Years ago my daughter came home from school and said her teacher "told me to sew little curtains for the class",,,, i said how come ? she said , teacher said i was a Stay at home mother" . Now this teacher had a son that went to same kindergarten as my son, and i made the kindergarten a set of hand dolls,,, [ volunterly], and she saw them and i refused her request to make her a set ,,,,, now suddenly i gotthis order ,,, i went to school and confronted her; " Good you come in " says she ,, "here are the measurements, aren`t you pleased i give you something , to fill your time with , and please do it by tomorrow!!". i was in hard point , if i refuse will she be unkind to my daughter ?,,, thus i thought and said to her that i am a stay at home mum, but i work from home, I am willing to help the class, but Due to Former duties, i can do it only NEXT MONTH . And this is waht i did,,,, over the year we had some other small problems. But she was not too unkind to my daughter... mirjam ps years later i somehow leveled the score ,,,,

Your words reminded me ,, years ago i had a woman who came in and ordered a woven shirt, Now dressing the loom for only one shirt, isn`t efficient at all ,,, thus i made more cloth than just for one shirt. ,, She came in Bought her shirt,,, From the rest i made a skirt that was bought by a gallery lady in another city....[pattern was tottaly different only warp was the same... Half a year later , same woman , ordered a vest,,,,, I made her the vest, and as was my habit made more cloth from same warp ,,, in fact made myself a dress,,,,and another stola , a colleague of mine bought...... THAN i got a call from said lady,, she "was SO disappointed !!!! to hear i sold to other people as well, i was HER PERSONAL weaver, to make her special clothes !!!!! how dare i sell to others !!!!" i was flabbergasted !!! after gasping for air , i asked her if she thought i could make a living form selling her 2 shirts a year ???? Than she said to me ,, " It is your loss , but i can`t use your services anymore ,, you are fired !!!" I started to laugh so loudly .... that my late dog came running looking for me . mirjam

DA this reminds ,me that when i sold my `woven` shirts, [ and i realy needed the money at the time ],,,,one woman told me ,,,"she can knit it for a 1/4 the price !!!" ,,,, i told her that if she can knit a woven item?? why doesn`t she do it ??? mirjam

You are welcome Jan ,,, And sharing cultural info is really fun... It also could be useful, i found in Belgium in middle Brussesls a whole shopping mall [ covered street] , were al shopkeepers are from `our side of globus`,,,, i haven`t noted at first, but as i came in a shop, asked for a price and said No thank you, the man immidiately went down in price, i realized he didn`t consider me local , thus i answered in the same manner ,,,,, and he pleasantly packed the item in , threw in a little present, and said what a pleasure it was to sell to a Lady who `understood` how to buy..... mirjam

Oh come on, Mirjam, why don't you give her your little "so you had an inconvenience, why be unkind, maybe she didn't have enough sleep" story.

Mainly crochet, but have been known to knit. Presently working on two projects - one for TV at front of house - a jubilee pattern tablecloth - and one for the computer room at the back of the house - a cape cod afghan.

My wife and I are separated - she lives inb front of the TV and I live in front of the computer. We meet for meals and bed. LOL

:o/ Not nice! Sometimes that is true that someone is having a bad day (I have run into people like that, haven't you?), but in this case it wasn't true and Mirjam recognized that... so why the jab?
