Almost an FO

Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking but not posting much lately. Busy with the boys and summertime.

I finally sewed the vintage baby jacket together. I have a few loose ends and it needs buttons, but it turned out pretty well. I don't know if you remember the dye lot problem, but I had to use a different one for the sleeves. I don't think the difference is that noticeable. I thought I would over-dye the garment if it looked bad, but I'm thinking now, I'll leave it be.

Here's a picture of where it's at:

I sure do but I can't see any evidence of such issues in your finished work - I think it's just lovely!

Thanks VP. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now I just have to find some buttons and weave those loose threads.

That is lovely hesira and I agree you can't notice anything different between the dye lots. I love those lacy rows on the cuffs and body - they look so good. Well done.

The sweater looks great, and I can't see any difference in colour from the sleeves to the sweater. Lucky baby. Shelagh

I have a question for you about Flickr. Since they only allow 200 photos in the free albums, and I see you seem to be way beyond that, have you then bought the Flickr Pro?

I set up a Flickr account for the eventuality that I'll be on Ravelry.... I'm waiting for my invitation, and they use Flickr for photos. I looked around at what was out there for free photo hosting and there seems to be only one or two that allow large bandwidth for the free albums. I'm kind of bummed that Yahoo is shutting down their photo hosting in favour of Flickr, But, I guess in the long run, it's all about money (sigh). Shelagh

On Jul 7, 5:31 pm,

I did buy a Flickr Pro Account a few months ago. It was around 25 UD dollars for a 1 year subscription. The free account had been adequate, but in January I joined Project 365 (posting a daily photo for 1 year) and my free account couldn't handle that. The main reason I subscribed was I already had 3 sets (or groups) of pictures and I wanted a separate one for Project 365, and 3 sets is the limit for a free account.

Flickr is the only picture sharing site I'm familiar with. I do have a Photobucket account, but I don't use it much. I know everyone wants their money, but I am pretty frugal, and treated myself to the Flickr account. I'm really glad I did.

Let us know when you are on Ravelry. I'm interested in whats going on there.

A friend told me about a Google photo sharing thing called "Picasa"

allows for 1 GB of free storage space which I saw written elsewhereas translated into 4000 photos (not sure what size photos).I'm still trying to make up my mind where to migrate once Yahoo shuts downthe Canadian albums. Apparently the international Yahoo albums are not tobe shut down as soon as the ones in the U.S.>

Have you been to their site, read the blog and taken the tour? I guess they have a huge backlog of people waiting for invitations.

That little jacket turned out very well. Although I can see a difference between the body and sleeves, I doubt I would have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it. It actually gives it a little more class.

Also, Picasa is a very nice free photo manipulation program that resides on your desktop. It lets you do all the most common things, like straighten, crop, lighten, darken, fix red eye, and correct odd color tints. I use photoshop for most of my photo correction, but Picasa has a lot of the basic capability and is free.

Thanks for the info Barbara.... I couldn't find anywhere on the site that they charge a fee to keep up the membership, so hopefully it truly is free like Yahoo. Some of them want you to purchase something within a year, or they delete you, and I don't want that ;>(

I probably will migrate to Picasa. Shelagh

Wow! That's simply adorable! I love it. Great work! I don't see any dye lot issues in the photo you posted. It's lovely.

Oh! How pretty!

Truly a sweet little jacket. Was it difficult?
