Another pattern!!!

Hey fellow knitters, I visited the local yarn shop today (Ye Olde Yarn Shop - can you stand it?) and saw a book for "The Great American Aaran Afghan" from Knitters Magazine. Wow!! It is gorgeous! The woman in the store said several of her customers have made it and it's exquisite. It is has 28 aran squares, each designed by a different person (looks like there had been a contest). They are knitted separately. The border is a cable and looks like a braid. I can't wait to make it as the wedding gift for my son and his (future) wife! I will have to make one for myself - maybe knit two of each square at the same time?

Hi Susan,

That sounds lovely and I think I'd make the two squares at a time just in case I got tired of the pattern by the time I got the first one finished. Can't wait to see a picture.

Hugs,

Susan ,,, if you intend making two , it would very advisable to knit two together as one knits sleeves ,,,,, another additional benefit would be , that if you becaome bored about doing it , you can stop half way...and have a wonderful afghan with 2 of each square .... mirjam
