Christmas scarves are DONE

Dec 17, 2005 5 Replies

I finished weaving in ends on 6 scarves yesterday while wrapping them for the family Christmas party (we're leaving in just a few to make the trip to Ann Arbor). Whew! I also did up special boxes for each scarf-- red lids/green body or vice versa with glitter paint as the final coat and some ribbons to hold everything. Boxes were just plain paperboard boxes from the craft dept at Wally World... my BF says people are probably going to like the boxes more than the scarves. That's fine. I figured they'd be useful as keepsake boxes or to use again as wrapping for someone else... still happy that I DID finish them all! now I have to do up my 6x6 squares for the exchange and the comfortgan... shouldn't be a problem. After visiting my family at my brother's, we're visiting his brother in VA... lots and lots of knitting time on the road. :)

Recycled boxes: One year I covered a box with flocked wallpaper leftover from a store window my dad had dressed. I put her Christmas gift in it and gave it to my sister. We exchanged that box at Christmas for about 5 or 6 years!

Amanda, enjoy your trip, the holiday, and congrats on finishing your projects! Merry merry joy joy!!
