I thought that someone else was getting as excited as the English about beating the Australians to win the Ashes (very strange and small trophy for winning at cricket!) Then I realised that you meant the insect!! Ooops Love (very confused) Christine

Some of us 'are' worldly, Gwen! I adore cricket, rugby, soccer, lacrosse, etc... though not wildly popular here in the States... Noreen

Gemini - we do play LaCrosse here but not very much but I did see it at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria in 1994. However we play a lot of Poolcrosse which is a kind of combination of Polo and LaCrosse. God Bless Gwen

That's neat, Gwen. Can't say that I've heard of Poolcrosse before though. ;o)

Yes, Canada's national sport is LaCrosse... Basketball was invented here in Ontario, Canada... and I *think* most Hockey players (even on American teams) are Canadians. That's possibly the reason why a lot of people think Hockey is Canada's national sport.

Whereas most Baseball players (even on Canadian teams) are American. ;o)

Personally, I like in order... Baseball, which I can (but don't) watch at almost anytime of the season but much prefer the World Series... and American Football (yes, I know we have Canadian football teams too, but I haven't really gotten into watching it... yet) at SuperBowl. I'm not really into sports other than those two things. I can't stand Hockey (don't throw things at me for this), and I find Golf to be one of the most BORING things to watch (it almost puts me to sleep) and if they put me on a golf course I would have more fun riding the golf cart around rather than playing golf itself. Tennis and Basketball are okay, but I really have to be in the mood for either of them. And the other sports not mentioned.... I just never got into them at all.

Hey, is Billiards a sport? I like playing that, and watching it can be neat too... but not as much fun as playing it. ;o)

Peace! Gemini

- back on *briefly* this morning, before all the aches and pains and Fibro-fog sets in again.

Now THAT, I didn't know, but then again, I'm not a fan of basketball! Although, *just wondering*... on Survivor they played an ancient Aztec/Mayan game that resembled modern-day basketball.... Noreen
