Wouldn't it be great?

Store clothing in Canada, is often done on Monday for say, a hairdresser who was open on Saturday. However the rest of the time, stores are 7 days a week.

In Holland the butchers are entitled to either a day or half a day off, so are the greengrocers and other speciality stores, etc. When you come to the smaller cities and villages they do adhere to these closing days very much so. It takes getting used to. In the little village where Otto's mother lived, stores would also close for lunch time, and often at 5 o'clock instead of 6. It can drive a person crazy. In Amsterdam there are indeed still days for specialty stores to be closed. I think it is a protection of the store clerks, so that they would have some time off during the week. Most likely all union members as well.

Katherine it means that you have to go back for another visit....LOL We will all come with you to make sure that you do not miss the opening times of all the yarn stores....LOL

Els, THat would be wonderful!
