ELS....THANKYOU

That *is* bad, Mirjam. Postal workers are not supposed to go through your mail, even if it isn't a private letter.... it is still your private mail.

I have had occasional envelopes in my Post Office box that are not sealed. The first time I noticed it I was angry and thought someone in the Post Office had opened it, until I took a closer look and could see that the sender hadn't even tried to seal the envelope, then I was not thrilled with the sender (it was a bill, and shouldn't be left open so that anyone *could* look inside if they wanted to). But in your case, for the outside bag the magazine was supposed to be sealed in to be blatantly removed and your magazine dog-earred like that... that outright shows that someone deliberately opened it and looked through it. :o/

On the same theme, we have recently had two padded envelopes sent to California, very carefully slit open and the contents removed! And the empty envelopes were then delivered.

Roger that must have been very frustrating. Not that it would have made any difference, but did you go back to the postoffice with this. and complain. You will never find out what happened there, othere than that some one in the delivery chain is a thief. To bad that we can't trust anyone anymore.

Wish I could send parcels by e-mail......LOL

Have a great Sunday and enjoy a good skate on the rideau canal for me. Heard that in the coming years you will be able to do that less and less.

Wow, I guess I'm not the only one! I ordered something, waited, waited, waited, then finally called the company (not Yarn Forward).... they checked, said "hmmm, it appears your order is lost" and promptly said they'd re-send it, this time UPS. THAT arrived in two days, and two weeks later, the original order arrived via USPS, and the box was mangled, with contents (except the invoice, lol) removed. (I re-called the company to tell them of this development, offered to send them the empty carton, they said it wasn't necessary, but did ask me to report it to my local PO. Well, THAT is a fiasco here in middle Tenn, inthat my postmaster is a crackhead........) Noreen

LOL, Els! Here in the US, whatwith the Patriot Act, etc, I'm having emails lost too, at least 30 percent of them! Don't know what the Feds want with emails to family and friends about geneology, lymphoma, etc!!! JM2C, Noreen

Yarn Barf! What a perfect description!!!

I was sitting at my Dr's waiting room and another lady neatly pulled the end out of a new skein of yarn and I was amazed. I have never had that happen. She said that it always works that way for her. Sigh!!

So, were you tempted to take her yarn and tangle it up on her just so she could know the feeling like the rest of us do? ROTFL Sorry, I'm in one of those moods today! ;o)

Definitely -- I wanted to actually tie knots in her yarn. She also crocheted a lot faster than I do. Some people!

Noreen, if you mean the head of your local Post Office, can't you go to the regional Post Master, or whatever it is called that overseas the various town post offices?

Rather than complain verbally, look in the lobby of your post office for the comment cards. Your postmaster does pay attention to those. His/her next pay raise or cost of living adjustment depend on those cards. Even if he/she has brushed you off in the past, the person above him/her won't.

Thank you Gemini , Yesterday i was still bound to printshop , than had to finnish press release ,, this morning Cleaning house, thus by this afternoon i will take my mag , and go tell the post office manager , what i think about his employess ,,,, Like you said when the dammge or neglect is somewhere else ,,,, but dog ears , also the loose cards that are usually in the mag [in case you want to buy more subscriptions , that usuallare neatly folded into the mag , are missing ,, that is None , which is odd as well and sign of having been leafed through... brrrrrr mirjam

(snip)

We tried that, but as two post offices are involved (US and Canada) they always blame the other one - we are just suspicious that it hapened twice, both to California, which would seem to implicate the USPS.

Now you have got to stop using words with more than two syllables and all those foreign words so the homeland security people know what you are talking about.

Mirjam,

Look on the bright side - maybe she took the subscription cards so she could order her own subscription and leave yours alone? :)

More likely those emails were blocked by anti spam software at one of the hubs. (the Feds just copy & read, not block. It is not like censorship in the days of paper mail.)

Mirjam, It is not nice when you have your mail read, but I would still be happy to get my magazine, even without the dumb cards that always fall out. Maybe a very bored mail employee, will now go and do some knitting, or spinningor any kind of textiles. Maybe indirectly you have shared your love for textiles. Paying forward. Make it a possitive, like Laura said. Keep on smiling girl
