I actually did some quilting today!

I'd meant to quilt during our annual quilting week, but after working full time (normally I work 16 hours a week), and trying to catch up with all the normal stuff we do in a week, there just wasn't any time left over. So....today, I started a baby quilt top for a friend of mine. I haven't lost my touch, I have found. I've taken some really unlikely color combinations, and made a really cute quilt top...in 2 hours, from first cut to last border seam. I should have it basted on Thursday evening and the quilting finished sometime this weekend. The baby is due sometime in the next three weeks, so there isn't any time to waste. I hope to present it to the mom on Tuesday of next week. It's really nice to be sewing again after not having done much for several months.

Jen, I can sympathize with you on the work thing. I was working full time for the last several months while my work partner(we share a full time job) was off sick. She's back now but I unfortunately spent the quilting week , cleaning (gasp) . Now that my house is in tip top shape it's time to get at it. Now do I finish some UFO's or start something new? :) I share in your excitement at finally getting back to the more important things in life. Donna inNWOntario

I think the most frustrating part of having to go back to work was not being able to spend as much time here as I used to. Ok, well, there was a time when the computer was my only companion during the day, because I was in too much pain to do much else. But now that I 'have a life', for some reason, I'm hardly ever home anymore. Which doesn't help when I'm also trying to make baby quilts and jewelry to sell in order to be able to keep quilting and making jewelry!
