Glad I made new slipper socks!

LOL Thumb butte is not pronounced like "but." It is pronounced more like the first syllable of "beautiful." Marilyn

The snow level here (greater Phoenix area) was down to 2000 feet. We are in the *high* desert- we are at an elevation of 1500+ feet. I used to think that all deserts were near 0 elevation LOL. Arizona has practically every climate and zone type you can think about. If I drive north for an hour I will be up in the mountains where the elveation is 5000 ft or more. Most of northern Arizona gets snow, in fact there are quite a number of ski resorts here. And the days are short...when I was visiting my brother in Seattle, the twilight lasted til 10.30 at night. In the summer it is dark here by 8.00 p.m. Sun comes up around 7 a.m. in the winter and sets by 5.30 p.m. Sure is strange, you'd think we would have longer days being closer to the equator! All of the mountain ranges surrounding the city were covered in snow yesterday, it sure was pretty.....however, it's supposed to get up close to 80F by the end of the week. Strange out here.... You must have been there close to midsummer - we in Seattle pay for that in December when the night is quite long. We have a very long spring here - starts really in late February and last through June. We don't really get summer until July (often after the 4th).
