Hello Everyone

Hi

I have been knitting since I was 10 years old (hmmn and that was 33 years ago!) and it could be said that I am a bit of an addict! I have recently been through some pretty tough times in my life and knitting has really helped.

I would love to chat to any of you who are as fond of this fabulous craft as I am.

Welcome, Louise, to the home of the fibre addicted, with none of us trying to give up the highs gained by working with yarn in whatever form. For me it's knitting, crochet, Tunisian crochet, tatting and broomstick crochet (along with trying out all sorts of things as they crop up) For others it's different. But you'll certainly find lots of kindred spirits here. Enjoy the company Love & higs Christine (in hot, humid and sometimes sunny Kent in South East England)

Welcome, Louise. I am also a knitter. I do some other crafts, but knitting is my passion.

Hi Louise, welcome from a person who has been knitting much longer than 33 years but I wouldn't say I'm addicted. Come back and chat whenever you can.

Glad to meet ya.. My name is Portia.. Just joined here last night.. And I enjoy knitting as well.. I find it helps me through tough situation.. Went to buy some yarn for bookmarks but the colored beads I wanted to get for the colored yarn would not have gone well.. Need to take myself to Joanne's tomorrow and see about finding some clear beads for projects like that.. Take care and God bless

Louise,

I have knitted and crochet for about 25 years.

Yes I has helped in rough times and the gifts helped to put smiles on many faces.

Welcome to our group, most many times and ask many questions.

Thanks all for the welcome!

I tend to get most of my yarn and accessories from the net as although I live in London, there are still very few decent craft shops! My dream is to open one myself someday.

I am currently knitting a mohair shrug on 2.5mm needles in a delicate lacy pattern - the trouble is it is painfully slow - so today I think I am going to give myself a fix by starting a baby jacket which is in chunky, funky, red wool and will knit up quickly.....will then have the patience to go back to the shrug!

I have been knitting for a couple of years! Does that count?

I've crocheted for 36 years, but love to knit because the stitches are so pretty.

Lately I've lost motivation for either. Maybe it's the heat down here in the SE of the good old U S A.

Welcome to the group Louise - I started knitting at age 4 (I'm now retired) and have been through embroidery, hooking rugs, cross stitch, crewel etc. Now I spend most of my 'craft time' making afghans for Project Linus

Hi, Louise! Sorry to be SO remiss in welcoming you, I'm *usually* the first to do so, but I've been 'out' first with a migraine, and then too busy to

*be* here, lately! Welcome to the best NG on the 'net! I knit, crochet, spin, tat, work bobbinlace, and more.... Noreen in middle TN, USA

Welcome, Louise. I think you have come to the right place for discussing knitting....or just about any other craft. What is the pattern you are using for the chunky baby jacket that you mentioned? I have some chunky yarn and would love to find a pattern that calls out for it.
