Mirjam, I guess you are right I "DO" belong here. :) Susie
Yes, Susie, ... AND this group is also a bunch of what we call "evil enablers"... we'll share a link, you'll go look, and NOT be able to resist, LOL hehehe, Noreen
Mirjam, Ah true. I can put them to bed and pick them up to play whenever "I" choose. :) Susie
Noreen, OH NO, please don't be enablers. I promised myself just yesterday that I was NOT going to spend anymore ON ME. I have to get started on Christmas shopping. It seems this year I have gone out of my mind. Someone on a forum posted a link to a place where you could get things for a $1 total shipping and I bought a bunch of knitting books. YES, I DID IT. :o( Susie
Welcome to rcty, Susie! :o) You must be related to me, you have my nose! LOL Just kidding... once upon a time a friend of mine in England and myself were the main ones who used that nose... now a lot of people do. ;o)
Anyway... I'm just stopping in briefly (not feeling too well lately), but I wanted to welcome you to the newsgroup family. You'll love it here... and yes, by the way... yarn, pattern books, needles, hooks, etc that you get interested in *will* jump into your cart. ;o)
Peace! Gemini (Ontario, Canada)
No worries, Susie... *evil grin* ...you won't necessarily spend money on yourself by our enabling. At least not from my point of view.... I post URLs for free patterns that even though you may have a TON of patterns already you will just HAVE to have them for your collection. Mwahahahaha ;o)
Peace! Gemini
- who has waaaay more patterns (both paper and on the computer) than I will ever be able to use... but... who cares? LOL
Just wanted to let you know that I read (and saved) your message to me about Fibromyalgia, Fairwinner. :o) I will contact you in a few days when I'm (hopefully) feeling better and able to stay at the computer for a longer period of time.
Peace! Gemini
Gemini, Thanks for the welcome. Being a quilter, and soon to be embroider-er........and NOW wanting to knit I hope my cart don't runneth over. LOL. Hope you get to feeling better, Susie
Gemini, I won't spend any money????? I have to don't I? I don't have anything. I don't have knitting needles, yarn or anything. :) Susie
Mwahahahaha
Well, since you put it that way.... then yes, you will have to spend *some* money to get you started. But once you've started and you are on your way to building your yarn stash, then the free patterns available on the Internet are boundless.... you will keep building and building and building your collection of free patterns. ;o)
Peace! Gemini
- I didn't realize that you didn't even have the basics for knitting yet. What fun you have to look forward too. :o)
- Gone for a while again now... rest time!
Gemini, I haven't even had time to look for any free patterns yet. I will have to do that. Nope, I don't have anything but did order some books today. I might be going tomorrow to a "Knit In" that the owner of the yarn shop is having and will meet some knitters and watch and then Tuesday I will get my stuff and have my first class. Get better ok? Susie
At least you'll have more than enough free patterns through the internet.

Welcome, Susie, and congratulations on starting knitting. I hope that you enjoy your lessons, and you know what? With lessons, I don't know if you will need a beginner's book. COme back and tell us how things are going.
