I'm on the heel now!

I've started the tulip heel. (they have to be teal blue, the only spare yarn I've got that won't clash with the pink sock.) and so far so good. when I get that part done, I'll try to take a picture.

Good, Norma! I plan to make spring gifts for DD and DIL. But I think the gauge was not good for my yarn. 30 sts pr. 4" is a bit too much for me. I think I have to use a bit less sts. May be 56 sts in stead of 64. Then I have to change the tulips pattern a bit, but I hope I will get them OK. How was your "leg" in the end??

I am now finishing a jacket which has been worked on, between all other things. Strange how easy it is to loose the interest when a thing takes that long. I have to be strict with myself, to get it finished before *the tulips*!! AUD ;-)

Well I like short socks, so it didn't take too long for the leg part. I didn't do it the full 7 inches that was called for; only 3 inches. So far so good. I wonder if I'll be able to figure out going back to the round part for the foot. :-) I have a few rows of the heel to complete yet, so I'll have to wait and see.

Good for you on the jacket! I only do small projects, that aren't too time consuming. I get bored easily.

Nora, & Deborah, not so fast actually. I cheated by making the leg part only

3 inches - I don't like tall socks - so I got there faster. Besides I didn't want to invest all that time and then find out I couldn't do it. I'd be really pe-od then! LOL Bad enough that I have to make two before I can say I did it!
